Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Apr 05, 2010 11:57 pm Hi,
I Need a lot of help here as i have my colors appointment next week. I am building Talbot 28 traditional Facade with Metricon. Things we liked untill now. Roof Tiles: Bristle Magnum tiles Brick: Boral Brown Terrain Brick Gutters: Colorbond Paperbark Facia: Colorbond Monument Window Frames: Colorbond Night Sky Garage Door: Panelglide Tuscan Dawn Cabinets : Laminex Burnished Wood Benchtop: Icesnow We are rendering the front facade so i am very confused with the facade colours. My facade will something like this: http://img92.imageshack.us/img92/9939/14152005.jpg I want to go with something neutral not very dark not very light. Can someone tell me if the above go well with each other, or if you can suggest any changes. Can someone suggest neutral render colors for my facade. Re: Need Help with colors as my Colors appoinment is next we 2Apr 06, 2010 7:20 am How about a nice mid grey for your Render? It will complement your roof and black windows. Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Need Help with colors as my Colors appoinment is next we 3Apr 06, 2010 11:01 am Thanks Michelle for your quick reply, I am playing with few colors on Studio M website by i am not sure how they will look in real.when you say mid grey can you suggest few grey colors in Dulux so that i can look for those particular mid grey on Studio M and see how they look on my facade. Do you think Magnum tiles, Paperbark Gutter, Monument Facia and Night Sky windows will go well together. I tought of a light gutter colour and a dark facia so that i can make it as a highlight, does this work or will it look odd. I am having a Madison door 104 what color do you suggest? Re: Need Help with colors as my Colors appoinment is next we 4Apr 06, 2010 6:02 pm Ok sandal, can you tell the colour of your garage door? Tuscan Dawn, whats that? Also can you give me the link or a pic of the bricks you are having? I need to know all this first before I pick a front door colour for you. Then I’ll look at your paper bark gutters and give you some greys to work with. Thanks Re: Need Help with colors as my Colors appoinment is next we 6Apr 07, 2010 6:33 am Sandal, thanks for the pic, I didn’t relies the garage door was the same, sorry. I would change the paperbark gutters to Dune. There is too much tonal difference with you using the paperbark as apposed to your roof. Other thank that, all looks good. Facade with my colors: I am mostly concerned about my render colors and Sea Elephant Feature wall in my Rumpus. Michelle please tell me how they look or advice me on a better color. Re: Michelle Urgent Help needed with selected Colors 8Apr 21, 2010 6:17 pm I love Sea Elephant – what makes you unsure of the colour? I’m working off my laptop and the colours are not so good on it, but I think your render colours will be fine. Get some sample pots and paint the 2 colours up next to each other and see what YOU think. well done with your selections..... Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Michelle Urgent Help needed with selected Colors 9Apr 21, 2010 7:09 pm Thanks Michelle for your reply I was concerned about sea elephant because i never saw that color on a wall,i choose the color because the consultant did recommend me. Do you think it will look good in my rumpus/ theater room? Do you have images of sea elephant painted walls? Is mud pubble too dark for a render ? I am painting my madison door with Dulux Rameau color which i am also using to render my portico pier. Do you think it will look too purple? I am using 3 feature walls one for main bed room which is Bonito(it looks light lavender),one for family room which is cobblestone and sea elephant for Rumpus. Are these feature walls in sink with each other, because i am trying to bring the look of the display house i liked. These are the images of the display house: Family room: Rumpus Room: Bedroom: Do you think the colors i am using will bring that look? Re: Michelle Urgent Help needed with selected Colors 10Apr 21, 2010 7:49 pm Sandal….watch me post a thread with Sea Elephant, and watch the response I get to the colour. I think a couple of the girls here have used the colour and they love it, as do I. It’s a great colour for any room I think. I can’t look at colours on my laptop, they are not true colours to me, I pick my work computer up tomorrow. I’ve just looked at the Dulux Rameau, yes it has a slight tint of purple to it. But it’s a nice colour if your concerned why not try Brood, its 3 colours darker than the Mud Puddle, so in the same family. I wanted to use it in my Master Bedroom. Now my concern is will purple emipre go well with my brown carpet, Merbau Stained Timber doors and Limed Ash ensuite cupboards. I decided in using Sea Elephant in my rumpus also reading from your posts. In Family i am using Bristol Cobblestone which i think will go well with my burnished wood kitchen cupboards. Cobblestone: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ You think Purple Empire, Cobblestone and Sea ELephant go well in my house. Thanks for assuring me that Mud Puddle is not a dark render color, i will stick with Rameau for portico render so that i can bring that purple into my house and use purple empire to my master bedroom.
