Had a few drinkies out there, nothing big yet, still waiting for the pole to be replaced. Hopefully pouring concrete in the next couple of weeks I really want it finished for xmas, but I wont hold my breath! Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: MY NEW AWNING - NEARLY THERE! 64Nov 20, 2007 6:25 pm 2 x slabs of concrete are being laid this Saturday, followed by me inserting way too many Tigers Eyes pebbles as a boarder around the slabs.
Should look ok if I can do a good job. put too much water in it. Didn’t that cause a headache for when it came time to put the pebbles in! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ So while waiting for the slabs to dry, builder (next door neighbour) and the other half put the new BBQ together. Now…..which bit goes where????? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ There we go…..not too hard after all! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Not quite the effect I was after, close…. But we had to work really fast with the pebbles as the concrete was drying underneath faster than on top. The neighbour had to hit them in with his rubber mallet!!!! Mean while I had to do a sponging effect to soak up all the excess water around them. Not too bad better than just concrete. Wouldn’t you know it the BBQ came with the most important thing missing…….the bit which makes the spark jump to the elements. Just our luck! Ohhh possible reference the tree here? Yes always good to get it up! Plenty of parties to be had in that area for many years to come.

I’ll take some more photos when it’s fine. Otherwise they come out too dark. For all those on water restrictions…..it’s not happening here!!!! The colour really compliments your bricks. But of course you knew that already hey????
I see the tradies haven't been back to repair that pole yet???? Are you also going to cut pavers to slot in around the new concreted area or infill with something else??? Great job, rain, hail or shine, this Christmas is going to be rockin' at your place - that's for sure... Re: MY NEW AWNING - NEARLY THERE! 77Dec 05, 2007 5:09 pm I haven’t rushed the guys with the poll, I didn’t want everyone tripping over each other while doing the concrete. Rang them yesterday….they are flat out because off all the rain. So it will probably happen after xmas. But at least it’s getting done!!
Glen will cut some more pavers this weekend….if I’m lucky …to fit into the gapes. There will be small holes left no doubt, being a circular shape, I’ll fill those with sand. Thanks **Phoenix** Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: MY NEW AWNING - NEARLY THERE! 78Dec 05, 2007 5:15 pm Michelle, you seem to have it all under control.
Make sure you measure the pavers and tell Glen where to cut them - just in case.... you know these guys and their measurements (near enough is good enough- well for some of them anyway) AND then they expect us to be happy with the result......
