Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Sep 10, 2007 5:54 pm Our BBG area before the new cover goes on; I have just spent the day digging out all the plants from the corner gardens, which will be taken out to make more room. As you can see, still more to do, the other half has the good job of taking out the Palm tree stumps…..heheheheheeh
Can’t wait….not sure when they will start have to get council permission yet…..mmmm could be a while! I’ll post photos as it progresses, quite happy I can now participate in posting photos of one of my projects….. Really don’t know why I didn’t do it years ago! SEE people….. Even we designy people miss crucial details! In place of the lattice will be, chrome “picture” feature lighting, shining down on MY artwork, x 4 walls, this will be interesting. Chrome fan from the ceiling and chrome lighting beside the fan possibly hanging down over the table. The glass top table will eventually be replaced with a long timber 10 to 12 seater table. The corner gardens will be …….well…. still tossing up on a few ideas there…..anyone want to add to my thoughts here!!! The palm stumps are coming out professionally, the soil will be removed….now what to do?? 1) Deck the 2 spaces, as a feature, but then have to worry about constant up keep….not for me!!! 2) Concrete then adding large pebbles to the wet concrete, like this idea, I can then hose it clean. 3) Use some type of stepping stone as a feature, possibly Sandstone. Below, the table will be moved and I am currently looking for a timber dresser to fill the spot, possibly a Balinese style, so I can put a nice lamp and candles on. Had to ditch the beautiful Camilla nearly cried about that, it was so pretty! The roots were well and truly entangled into the old palm roots, there was no saving it. The guys came back this morning and cut and ground the roots off of the two palm tree buts. Fussy as I am, I have to give these guys a plug A & D Tree Services Nowra….they are so tidy!!! I left cringing in my boots at the mess they were making; when I came home at lunch time to check it all out I was so impressed!!! Take notice of the below photos….THATS how they left my place…..spotless! ![]() The gardens are now ready to have the border pavers taken off, the soil dug out, a base layer of sand will then got down. THEN…..my flags stones will be laid!! Woohoo!!!! I’m wondering if I’ll get all my work done before the guys show up to do the actual roof cover. ![]() Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: MY NEW AWNING - NEARLY THERE! 6Oct 04, 2007 9:09 pm Thought I would update this post.
UPDATE…….NONE!!!! It seems since I live in a fire hazard zone…..no kidding 2 on the weekend already! The plans had to go to the Fire Department for approval. I was pushing for timber beams instead of metal, my builder told me out right NO! Good thing or it would never get passed! SO still waiting for approval, and getting toey!! The other half has taken all the surround pavers off the gardens, so I guess that's something! ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: MY NEW AWNING - NEARLY THERE! 7Oct 04, 2007 10:02 pm The garden beds look like there was never anything there in the first place! Great job. Have you got any plans that you can upload to the forum on how it is going to look? Hope all goes well with council... Re: MY NEW AWNING - NEARLY THERE! 8Oct 04, 2007 10:12 pm NO….I don’t need plans!!! I have vision!
The guy building it draw up a plan…not to scale. But I know what he is doing or he wouldn’t be here. Lucky my other half understands what’s going on…or he would be running blind on this. I know exactly what it will look like when its finished….so sorry, nothing to share except photos as it progresses. ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: MY NEW AWNING - NEARLY THERE! 9Oct 22, 2007 5:52 pm I guess this means I might be seeing some movement soon on the building of our BBQ area.

Looks like I will be painting a few areas on the weekend. Mainly the front of the old BBQ brick work looks like the reo has decided to leek a bit.
