Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Mar 31, 2010 10:24 pm Hi Michelle, have you had much experience using Porter's paint? I'm a total fan of Porter's and was wondering what your thoughts were for our main bathroom in which I think needs some colour. I have posted a pic in "Dollarz House" thread. I was thinking of something along the lines of Malt,Pod or Brazil Nut...something along those lines. I like Brown Ash but think this might be too brown. We'd prefer a black/grey base paint rather than a brown/purple/pink base colour. For the garage we ended up going with Monument would you believe. Your help, suggestions etc would be greatly appreciated. Re: Paint colours in particular Porter's Paint (Michelle)? 2Apr 03, 2010 2:52 pm I don’t have the current range of colours in Porters paints. Its very hard for me to stay onto of all the brands of paints available. Porters is a brand I don’t get asked about so I haven’t bothered buying the latest fan decks. Sorry!! I am going to purchase them I think as the closest store is a decent trip away. Any ideas though for the main bathroom colour? In whichever paint brand (preferrably Dulux- I do like Taubman's colour range but not sure how they perform). Re: Paint colours in particular Porter's Paint (Michelle)? 4Apr 03, 2010 3:14 pm Taubmans are as good as Dulux, so no worries there. In fact most high brand paints are good. What colour tile selection have you chosen? And what laminates are you using? Main bathroom-bleached reed bench top, cappuccino cabinets, tiles are close to alabaster I think. Feature tiles-no idea what they are called. Tiles haven't been cleaned yet. Here is a picture. Thinking of painting the R wall where the towel rack will go so the towels also provide colour to the bathroom. Re: Paint colours in particular Porter's Paint (Michelle)? 8Apr 06, 2010 7:38 am Dollar…..nice selections! I just had a play on the Taubmans site…..and I can say I dislike it just as much as before. Can’t find your Steel Dust there, can’t find anything there! And thanks to Taubmans spreading their colours all over the place, I can’t find it here anywhere. So sorry!!! What colour is it roughly….Grey?? I used the 'explore your options' section. It's in the 'aquatic' section of 'choose your own'. It's the colour on the far right in the middle somewhere. I hope this works. It took me a while to find it too. http://www.taubmans.com.au/public/colou ... tions.aspx Re: Paint colours in particular Porter's Paint (Michelle)? 10Apr 06, 2010 9:24 am OMG it worked. The far colour wall. Do you think the hole bathroom should be painted or just the wall where the towels go? If you have any other colour ideas would be great to hear about them. Re: Paint colours in particular Porter's Paint (Michelle)? 11Apr 06, 2010 12:12 pm Thank goodness something works!!! Yes that’s about the colour the name made me think it was. That should look ok, as long as your bathroom gets a fair bit of light, which it looks like it does. Give it a go on one wall, if you don’t like it, you just paint it out.
