Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Mar 30, 2010 6:58 pm Hi! Am a newbie here as I am only starting the whole renovation thing. Currently planning on renovating my kitchen, putting floorboards in, and also a new cupboard and am kind of stuck so wanted some of the forum's expert opinion Opinion is required for an apartment where the plan is relatively open (i.e. kitchen/lounge/dining all together) Floorboards will be this colour for the whole apartment > http://www.quick-step.com/australia/au/ ... 08191.aspx Kitchen cupboards will be in an antique white satin finish, and the benchtop will be a sahara quartzstone (http://www.wk.com.au/index.php?option=c ... rPkpGLcVjc) Opinion needed for: 1. I have been recommended to go with the Antique White USA for the walls. If I wanted a bit more colour, would Hogs Bristle 1/4 - 1/2 match everything else in the apartment? 2. I am also putting in a new wardrobe (formica finish) - should I stick to a antique white finish? I have also been considering the dark wood finish but am not sure whether this would make the room look small??\ 3. I'm going to be using a glass splashback in the kitchen. A bit stuck on the colour to use - I would like something neutral, but also that brightens up the kitchen a bit? Any suggestions?? Thanks!! Re: Colour Dilemna 3Mar 30, 2010 7:16 pm Hi epc nice floor colour, it will give your apartment a very intimate and cozy feel...I think, I love the benchtop too with white cupboards, good choice. I like the Antique White USA, I used it in my last house, it's a nice white but not cold and with your dark floors that's what I personally would do, not sure what Hogs Bristle looks like. Ummmm the splashback this might sound safe but I think white on clear glass (showing a green tinge) would brighten up the kitchen without going over the top and still keeping it super classy .... Michelle can give you more indepth, expert advice though, so hang around Re: Colour Dilemna 4Mar 30, 2010 7:26 pm I’ve just put your floor and Quartz together they work well, along with the antique white this should look good. I would suggest for a contemporary look you use the green tinted glass as the splash back no other colour with it. The green is quite noticeable and will go beautiful with the Quartz. I would also go with the Antique White walls Wardrobes I would keep neutral, the timber look could pull the room in. Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7158 Hi - thanks for your reply. Yes I think 'Ill go for whitish with very speckly bits rather than pure white something like this.
