I guess it depends on your furnishings & your flow colour. . .what will that be? I have Dulux exposed elements in my theatre room & I have Purple empire as a feature wall in living & main bedroom, it looks similar to Jacqueline. . .I think. There are pics on my thread. Good luck, Loretta Built The Jenmark with Cavalier Homes Macarthur. http://camdenacres.blogspot.com/ Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=17870 We are in - front landscaping begins Re: My Theatre Room Colours- vote for your fav! 3Mar 28, 2010 3:52 pm Thanks Loretta, I just re-acquainted myself with your colours - that Exposed Elements is beautiful. Our carpet is a very dark charcoal, so we aren't concerned about it clashing with the colour. We have no furniture to put in there yet so that isn't a problem either Re: My Theatre Room Colours- vote for your fav! 5Mar 28, 2010 6:16 pm Hey Vundaful!, I'm not a big fan of Teahouse, I have a sample pot sitting on my workbench. Out of the colours you've posted I really like Gascoyne Grey... it's quite moody and would work well in a home theatre space. I think Columbia is to brown. Re: My Theatre Room Colours- vote for your fav! 6Mar 28, 2010 6:49 pm I voted for columbia, but gee that teahouse is a divine colour (maybe not for home theatre tho) A thankful person is a happy person. Will itbe for 4 walls or a feature wall? www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: My Theatre Room Colours- vote for your fav! 10Mar 28, 2010 8:11 pm Thankyou all, I've run the colours past a few people and most have said that they probably aren't the best choices in that range for our theatre room - all 4 walls is the idea at the moment. I love the teahouse colour too, but like it's been mentioned - probably not the greatest choice for a large space. Graaaaaaa this colour choosing business is driving me batty Re: My Theatre Room Colours- vote for your fav! 11Mar 28, 2010 8:19 pm we are using Dulux snuggle pie in our theatre room - all the walls and ceilings....just for your databank of ideas.... My house and my rants.... - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=26937 We are in!!!...and still unpacking. Thankfully there are always Tim Tams Re: My Theatre Room Colours- vote for your fav! 13Mar 28, 2010 9:27 pm Nooooooooo... Not Columbia! In real life it's very, very brown! Here's a picture of a Columbia splashback - see how different the colour is compared with the online swatch? Re: My Theatre Room Colours- vote for your fav! 14Mar 28, 2010 10:59 pm Thanks Ikon, I agree and I think I realised why I've been so stressed about the theatre room colour. I've been trying to stick to the greyer-side of colours and they're all making me feel depressed and not very happy with them. I think I've found the one though... a complete 180 from what I was limiting myself to as well. Red Terra, a red on the orange side of red. Here's a mockup using my own theatre room visible from the living area, with some approximations for my flooring to help. The brightness makes me instantly happy, and I love orange - it's such an unusual colour. Re: My Theatre Room Colours- vote for your fav! 16Mar 29, 2010 5:26 am My votes for Jacqueline, I just looked it up on the Dulux Atlas and as I though it has a hint of pink in it. Not such a boring colour to put on walls and will look really moody with the deep grey carpet. I think it will look great..... Just something to keep in mind, and this is purely my personal opinion, but with bright colours, do you think it will detract too much from the main purpose for the room? If your room will be really dark (like a movie theatre) and not have much in the way of ambient light, then I don't think it will be such a big problem, since it will all look black anyway, and then you can enjoy the bright happy colour's during the day. At the end of the day, if it makes you happy that is all good in my books, very bold, and I say go for it! Re: My Theatre Room Colours- vote for your fav! 19Mar 29, 2010 6:52 am I had a Red Terra colour feature wall at the end of my hallway in the old house and I loved it. www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: My Theatre Room Colours- vote for your fav! 20Mar 29, 2010 8:43 am Mmmm I'm completely in love with this colour, and hsv since we wont be using the theatre room as a dedicated theatre room for a few years (we've got nothing to put in it ) at the moment the bright colour isn't a problem When the time comes for a projector we'll organise things like blockout curtains, dark removable acoustic panels etc - but thanks for looking out for me! For a dedicated HT, it's a very important consideration. Thanks everyone! Kept me sane during this little ordeal Hey, I am wanting to add a second toilet to my house, bit we have limited room.
