Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Mar 23, 2010 5:54 pm We were wandering thru a display yesterday & saw our Ice Snow ceaserstone benchtop. While it looked great, it now has us wondering if we will have too much white in the kitchen? The interior walls are Hog Bristle 1/4, kitchen cupboards are Laminex white with white kickboards too. On the back of the breakfast bar we are having Laminex Stringybark so that will give colour from that side at least. We are planning on a glass splashback (wld luv red or silver but undecided still) so I am now hoping the splashback & a few bright accessories placed around teeh kitchen will break up the white? Oh & the floors are sort of dark - New York Argento if that means anything to anyone? Cheers KIm Re: Oh oh too much white? 2Mar 23, 2010 6:28 pm No, not too much white to me. BUT, can I suggest Hog Bristle ½, not ¼……you really don’t need to go that light with that colour. That will also give you a little more colour on the walls. I wanted HB 1/2 but lost that battle with my partner. We will have a lot of windows & large sliders so plenty of light & I think 1/4 will be too light too but friends have 1/4 & my partner liked their look. I guess maybe I can add 1/2 feature walls - one day when I am home alone Cheers Kim Re: Oh oh too much white? 6Mar 23, 2010 7:06 pm OMG….move onto to something else, stop thinking about what you have chosen, you will go made otherwise. I agree with the others though, go the darker walls if you can twist your partners arm! I wouldn't be bold enough to go red on the splashback although it would be a great feature, silver sounds beautiful and coloured accessories as you suggested. Don't lose sleep over it - it will be amazing! Re: Oh oh too much white? 10Mar 23, 2010 8:45 pm i also think great colours together, can't go wrong! A thankful person is a happy person. Hmm could do that (and maybe get away with it) but I think the sound of ' i told you so' sounds pretty good too? I am not 100% sure about the 1/2 strength - we have a lot of timber furniture that may work to make the walls darker if we went 1/2. Think we will go with 1/4 & add features if it is too pale..................
