Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Mar 19, 2010 8:47 am Hi Michelle. Some of the other members in kitchen corner recommended i try to obtain some colour recommendations in terms of our kitchen face lift. Instead of typing it all again, i have just put a link to the post http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewforum.php?f=16 What we are aiming to do is re vanish the doors a more cholcate colour and put new bench top - at this point ebony marble (dark). In terms of the room we will have all stainless steal appliances. The entire house and walls will all be neutral / off-white. We are re vanishing our skirting which a oak colour. The dinning and living room which are adjacent to the kitchen have very large windows which let in ample light. Some of the furniture we have purchased are a chocolate base colour. and we are looking to buy a light colored couch! Sorry if that is too much information. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thank you Re: Michelle - some advice on colours plz - kitchen face lif 2Mar 19, 2010 5:57 pm I’m coming Dragon…. viewtopic.php?f=16&t=31234 Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Michelle - some advice on colours plz - kitchen face lif 3Mar 19, 2010 6:31 pm So Dragon20, are you looking for me to pick a chocolate stain/varnish for you? I have one in the house I am renting while we are building our new home. It is a nightmare for me. The splashback is also black granite. I like the look of it but it is impossible to keep clean as it shows every wipe mark, crumb and piece of dust. When I wipe it I also then have to polish it with a dry cloth. I have gone with a paler stone top Caesarstone Latte in my new home. Building in Bella Vista Waters Sydney. We have picked the tiles for splash back including the mosaic feature. I took a picture on my phone and ill post up for you to have a look The tile is 30*45 Cream biscuit (very slight off white) Will post pic's by end of today. In terms of colours for the wall i went to Bunnings and did some general colour picking and come up with Delux - Sago Quarter for the walls. From what Delux said there were a lot of chocolate and brown colours which compliment this colour. My thoughts were to pick something that can support the skirting which is dark oak and the kitchen. So overall i guess if you could provide some general recommendations in terms of colour for cupboards and maybe walls At the moment i have started with Wall's" - We are sticking with Natural colours around the house (its a unit so maximize space) Delux - Sago Quarter or Delux - Sandy day half (might be a bit to cream for me) Ceiling - Antique white U.S.A The Bench top will be Flat finish Laminex The splash back tiles will be gloss finish The floors and skirting will be Saturn finish The wall? - Any recommendations on finish? Flat Saturn gloss? Sorry for rambling, i think i am doing well for a guy! (atleast thats what i am telling my partner ) So really the main thing is just your support so that we don’t make any major mistakes at the moment i am trying to be as safe! as possible with my colours Re: Michelle - some advice on colours plz - kitchen face lif 6Mar 21, 2010 11:53 am Hi kerrin62 Its not actually going to be granite. Its Laminex squareform (Dont have budget for granite!) I agree with you in terms of splashback, so we decided to keep the splash back as netural as possible and a very light colour (white or off white) I dont think we will have too much trouble with the benchtop as we are going to buy it in a flat finish Thanks for your advice Re: Michelle - some advice on colours plz - kitchen face lif 7Mar 21, 2010 11:54 am Ohh Michelle! Probably the most important advice if possible would be your reconmendation on what you would do with the vaneer end of the benchtop where we are removing the breakfest bar. Would you paint? Put some Laminex sheets? Thanks for your support! Re: Michelle - some advice on colours plz - kitchen face lif 8Mar 23, 2010 7:38 am I’d paint it…..sand it back well, and paint it gloss white.
