Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Mar 18, 2010 6:43 pm Hi, We are still very new in this forum. We are renovating ourselves since last year and the progress is very slow. Now comes the painting part, but my husband and I can't reach any consensus, so I have posted some pics and ask you to please share your thoughts with us. We hope to get the painting done before winter arrives. Hallway - looking to the front. The door will be changed and the glass panels will be changed to coloured glass or leadlight depending what colour we choose for the hallway. The fanlight above each door will be purplepink dimond leadlight on clear glass. There are many doors going off the hallway which we would like to keep the same colour. The wall is 'white opal' now but my husband considers this too pale and bland. So would the below looking okay? Ceiling - Ceiling white Doors - Fair Bianca Walls - Chintz or Gentle Calm half? Trims - Hog Bristal Picture rails - Hog Bristal Kitchen - from hallway step to kitchen is a wood panel wall I would like to make a feature wall. To the right is the kitchen which currently is white with 'white opal' cabinets. To the left are French doors with two large windows and an end window with coloured glass. These will have Roman blinds with fabric in sort of 'white duck half/quarter mixed'. We are thinking of doing - Wooden panel walls - Spring burst half, semi gloss Door/windows Trims - Lexicon half white, gloss Feature wall - Plantain, semi gloss Rendering wall - Lexicon white, semi gloss Ceiling - ceiling white Images link - http://img180.imageshack.us/g/kitchenleftside.jpg/ (hope it works) As you can see, we are not very experienced with colour selection. Any feedback we are very appreciated!!! Re: Hallway and kitchen colour. Many thanks!!!! 2Mar 18, 2010 11:00 pm I love your gorgeous windows. I would keep all the windows and trims white then you could use different colours in rooms and it would all still tie in. Your place looks light and airy and i like that so i would choose a light colour for the walls. White duck quarter is nice just depends what you are after Re: Hallway and kitchen colour. Many thanks!!!! 3Mar 19, 2010 7:56 am Thanks Mango! Do you mean white duck quarter for all walls, white for windows and trims for both kitchen and hallway? Then what to do with the doors? Re: Hallway and kitchen colour. Many thanks!!!! 4Mar 19, 2010 6:13 pm This is a long post for me to look at the colours, bump the thread if I forget about you over the weekend. Many thanks!!!! 8Mar 21, 2010 7:12 am OK here I have a problem….your feature wall green is wrong and doesn’t go with the main green you want to use. Spring Burst half – when choosing feature colours of the same shade, its best to keep within that family of colours, try not to use another green out of the family. I have shown you this below, my choice for your feature wall is either Tendril or Bredon Green. Both in the same family as Spring Burst. Many thanks!!!! 11Mar 29, 2010 8:11 am Dear MIchelle and other friends, Please explain to me which and which colours are in the same family? Can I tell by looking at their Dulux colour numbers or colour wall? or shall I find out from their colour break-down (CMYK)? I'm preparing the third bedrom colour and feature wall colour. Thank you. Re: Hallway and kitchen colour. Many thanks!!!! 12Mar 29, 2010 2:03 pm If you follow the Dulux link below it will take you to the first page of colours on the colour site. Look at the first colour…..Soft Satin Quarter P01H1Q. Now look down that row of colours…the last one is Scarlet Ribbon P01H9 This is a full family of colours. (the one colour with tints and shades to make the one colour of different values). Do you understand all that? http://www.dulux.com.au/specifier/colou ... atlas.aspx Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Hallway and kitchen colour.
