Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Mar 17, 2010 1:32 pm I have ordered windows for the new house, interior and exterior is Stone Beige in aluminium frames. This company manufactures the hardware in Stone Beige so I saved myself some money. I wanted Paperbark but the difference is not so extreme. How do I go about choosing a colour for the render, mouldings, gutters, downpipes etc. Re: Render colour 2Mar 17, 2010 3:21 pm McKinnon…..that’s a broad question, can you post an elevation? So, are you choosing all your colours around your windows? Can you print the elevation off, scan it then email it to me. I’ll post it for you here. Now browsers can help me with the colour choice. The windows are stone beige and the rest! Are the windows supposed to be darker or lighter than the house render? I’ve actually been doing painting at my own house, so I’m a bit busy at the moment. I will try and get everyone sorted tomorrow. I think the render type will be a toscana render, that is a sand and cement render. I know it's more expensive than an acrylic render but it looks more natural. Re: Render colour 15Jul 17, 2010 8:04 pm Please help with render colour of my neo georgian. The windows are stone beige (dulux powdercoat) Roof boral charcoal flat linea Facia- gutters paperbark Garage paperbark, I just ordered it, I still have time to change it. Double front doors ? Do I go darker, like into the greys to contrast or keep it the same or go lighter? The renderer is on my back, I can't visualise and I am getting stressed. Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Render colour 17Jul 18, 2010 5:37 pm Hi Michelle, if you go a few posts back you will find the front elevation of the house. The dulux consultant said the colour of the windows were a problem. I agree, not having any experience I chose the windows first not thinking about render colour. Her suggestions were - Shaded lane or Champignon or Mud pack for a darker contrast or if was to go lighter Paperbark 1/2 or paperbark 3/4. The entrance doors will be timber with wrought iron inserts. Re: Render colour 18Jul 18, 2010 5:41 pm Sorry McKinnon…I should have looked back on the thread! Now dealing with a Trojan spam email so will try and get back to you when I have it sorted. The question is, do you want your windows to stand out or blend in with the render colour? I don’t know Shaded lane or Champignon but I do know Mud Pack to me the 2 colours do not go well together. Dulux Mud Pack Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ My suggestion for you is we choose a colour to blend with your windows and make your rendered fence 2 shades darker than the house colour. Does this sound ok? I think the colour consultant was trying to contrast and replicate a concrete look sand and cement render which I think, will not work with acrylic renders. What do you suggest to blend in? The other colours were BERGER not dulux. If it's not too late should change the colour of the garage. I'm worried that the whole thing will look to monochrome. Hi Alex, Thanks for the reply again. I had a chat with the builder, he said he will use primer, then hydrotec which comes with colour and sealer as well.
