Getting the composition just right without overdoing it can be tricky.... Anyway, I came across this blog post, which has some great photos. My favourite is this, not because of the objects or the colours, but because of the arrangement, the balance of shapes and sizes: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I'm going to reno a tallboy and do something similar in our bedroom. Re: Antiques in a Modern Interior 26Jul 19, 2010 6:44 am Hi Girls I have done absolutely nothing ATM...there are some very important projects that must be finished before I can even contemplate decorating the home. Everything has come to a hault for a while. Sigh....I havent even looked at a house magazine for at least 5 months. Beautiful photos Kek and exactly what I LOVE! Mrs B Re: Antiques in a Modern Interior 27Jul 19, 2010 7:32 am Aww, never mind Mrs B.... I've been in the same position myself. But yesterday I hunted through cupboards and drawers and found a few things I'd forgotten about. Some of them have possibilities... Over the next few weeks I'll be haunting the big $2 Shop near my work, which has some amazing stuff plus my local K Mart and Target, and sniffing out any little bargains I can find. I might try to track down some fabric remnants, see if I can find anything cheap that'll work for cushions and other bits and pieces. I also have my eye on a few things on eBay... I really need a couple of big furniture items to do this properly, but meanwhile, I can at least play with some smaller bits and pieces and have some parts of my rooms looking nice. Re: Antiques in a Modern Interior 29Sep 29, 2010 1:12 pm Lovely table Mrs B, I know nothing but here is my idea, i don't think the table quite goes there sorry(love it to the back off a sofa with what i will mention on ) Get rid of all the bits, find a lovely piece of old linen,a runner or large old doillie, white plain but very pretty. A nice tall vase to sit it on with flowers & place your photo collection either side. If you keep the table there, the mirror to the back would be lovely, but i think it would have to blend in with the table. I have the same prob,a house full of antiques to put in a new house, but ours will be a farm house style & hopefully will/should work Every-one has given you great idea's,look forward to seeing what you create Block bought 1st RBC X! 2nd Ventrua,Keeper!
