Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Feb 15, 2010 2:29 am Hi, we are going to get a shadowline cornice (I think that is what you call it), and are looking at these sort of picture rails to go with them. was just wondering if anyone has tried them. http://www.gallerypicturehangingsystems.com.au/photo-gallery.php?level=picture&id=28 http://picturerails.com.au/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=8 http://www.picturehangingsystems.com.au/home Thanks in advance Re: Picture Rails - a more contemporary look 2Feb 15, 2010 7:50 am The first link's picture looks good since I don't see any wires. The other two with visible wires look ugly IMO. Demolition August 2009, Construction Started September 2009, Completed December 2010 Re: Picture Rails - a more contemporary look 3Feb 15, 2010 9:36 am I have the third one in your list. It runs on about three walls in our house (mostly down the entrance corridor/hallway) and it's brilliant. Can't say enough good things about it. I installed the top "rail" (which is about an inch wide) a few mm from the bottom of the cornice (sydney cove cornice - not shadowline). It was dead easy to install into plasterboard (using a wallmate/screw combo about every 600mm), looks very contemporary and allows for lots of flexibility when you want to hang lots of pictures/frames. Re: Picture Rails - a more contemporary look 4Feb 15, 2010 3:39 pm I wouldn’t call them picture rails. But I love the concepts. I really think it depends on if you want to move the pics any time soon. I actually don’t mind the ones on the wire….to me it’s a very contemporary look, but you better follow through with that look, in your room.
