Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Jan 27, 2010 12:59 pm Im building a house and im at the stage of colour selections... So now comes the problem of choosing paint colours... we plan to get one colour in the living areas, kitchen, entry & hallway & white woodwork and doors & separate colours in the bedrooms etc... For the main areas i was looking for a colour that was grey but not too "cold"... that was dark enough for that perfect dramatic contrast to the white woodwork but not so dark that the house felt "small" So i've narrowed the "main areas" colour down to 3 options... i usually have a "gift" at choosing paint colours but for some reason now that its useful i seem to have lost it lol.... i have painted some boards with sample pots i bought... So here are some pictures of the 3 options with our kitchen samples... ANY advice would be greatly appreciated... the good the bad and the ugly lol... The first option is taubmans "grey fog" The second option is taubmans "flint smoke" The third option is taubmans "taupe stone" Our carpert will be similar to this but a bit more of a white sand colour Our hard floors - this exact flooring please please please please please please please please please please please please please please help me..... Have we helped with your decision? You and I have similiar tastes. I have in my ensuite and powder room Parbury "Arctic White" cupboards with Laminex "Ebony Macassar" benchtops. Jose27 Hey jose, i havent decided on paint colour yet.. i love the last one too but im a little concerned as our house is smaller than most people building lol (22 squares) that it may be too dark and make the house feel smaller.. i might see if i can get a sample pot of that colour 1/2 strength... i think that might be the solution... Thanx so much for your opinion i really appreciate it.. i did have a look through your thread last night lol your house looks great.. i love ebony macassar too lol.. we are having as vanities in both our bathrooms also... thats kinda what i've been gravitating towards dramatic contrasts... without even realising it lol.. feel free to have a look at my building thread i have put all my other colour selections on there... Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7170 Thank you @. Tried to play with the facade models but the exact colour is not matching up. 2 3275 Thank you. That is really helpful. Once we get the place done and passed for OC we can upgrade in the future once we get back on our feet and not paying mortgage and rent. 4 5745 |
