Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Jan 27, 2010 10:27 am Hi everyone, I need some help with getting a colour for our walls in the living areas and bedrooms in our house. We have dark colours (you can see it below, with the jarrah and charcoal) so we want a light coloured wall but don't want white. We would like to use the same colour in all of those rooms. We want it to be a tint of grey, but with some warmth in it, not completely grey but maybe a little brown tone to it but not too much to clash with the charcoal if that makes sense. We are happy to have other tones too apart from yellow and green tones. We've gone into our nearby Dulux centre but there are so many shades and I have no idea how it will look like on a full sized wall. We picked up Quarter Male and Quarter Limed White, and it sort of looks like what we are looking for, but we have no idea if that's right. Do you know of any colours that we could look at? Main colours throughout Ceiling /Cornice - Ceiling White Walls - That's what I need help with Skirting / Architrave - Jarrah (a marone red jarrah, barely any brown tones at all) Windows / Reveals / Frames - Dark Anotec Grey (Charcoal) Doors - White Window Treatments - None - will do this after painting Flooring - Living areas: Jarrah (a marone red jarrah, barely any brown tones at all) except in kitchen and wet area. Bedrooms: Charcoal carpet. Lighting - Halogen bulbs, lots of natural lighting too during the day ***************************************** Kitchens Splash Back - Black and Charcoal tiles Bench Top - White Cupboard Doors - Formica Jarrah (a marone red jarrah, much more red than the picture on the formica website. It's very similar in shade to Colorbond Red Manor if that makes sense) Cabinets - None Draws - Formica Jarrah Kickboard - Formica Jarrah Hardware / Taps - Chrome Handles - Satin Chrome Lighting - Halogen bulbs Re: What colour am I talking about? 3Jan 27, 2010 1:22 pm Hey, maybe have a look at Solver smoke pearl.....sounds sort of like a colour you might go for.
