Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Jan 31, 2010 10:55 pm Hi!! I am looking to paint a feature wall in the small entry area of my house. The rest of the walls around are antique white and there's plain white for all the woodwork. We have been given a large ornate gold mirror and I'm thinking of painting the wall behind the mirror a different colour. There are polished floorboards on the floor. I am just not sure what colour might be nice with the gold of the mirror. Any suggestions? Thanks heaps! Aubergine is also a nice colour which looks great with gold - Dulux Purple empire is great. A nice choc brown is Dulux sea elephant. Even Michelle's favourite green Nicks Nook would look fabulous. Would red interest you? Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Wall colour for gold mirror 6Feb 01, 2010 5:21 pm I would go RED... I think we're going to have a red feature wall in our entry... just need to convince the husband. (by convince, I mean go out and buy the paint and tell him I'm doing it) Re: Wall colour for gold mirror 7Feb 01, 2010 5:24 pm Nice colour Ikon! I really like the look of the sea elephant and that grey also - they are gorgeous shades. I love red but I worry that it might look a bit too much like the entry into my elegant boudoir rather than my hall/foyer. But perhaps I need to be a bit braver! The rest of my house is more bright tones like aqua/grey/white in the nearby kitchen and then there's touches of browns/brights pinks in the lounge nearby. I hope I am not overdoing it with colour so I think I like the earthy shades more so. Or maybe I need to be a bit more colour courageous!!!!!!???? Brilliantly helpful everyone!!!
