Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Jan 10, 2010 4:52 pm Hi all, We are building in the hills of Perth and have been touring the suburbs trying to find a good colour scheme for our new house. We have chosen Midland Bricks provincial avignon which does not seem to be all that common and we are finding it difficult to match a roof colour that we are confident will look good. We would appreciate any help and suggestions, these 2 options are what we have come up with (but are not limited to!) Cheers Option 1 Roof - Windspray Gutters - Windspray Fascia - Dune Bargeboards - Windspray Downpipes - Dune Garage Door - Dune Gable - Cedar look ?? Re: Confusion over colours on externals 2Jan 10, 2010 6:15 pm I prefer option 2. The colours IMO compliment each other better. A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands. Since you're in perth and building using Midland Brick, make an appointment with the Midland Vision Software team to see what your colours look like on a house. Be aware that it is appointment only http://www.midlandbrick.com.au/midland_vision/ Re: Confusion over colours on externals 5Jan 10, 2010 8:27 pm Vundaful! Another option 2 here. PCI Done Re: Confusion over colours on externals 6Jan 10, 2010 9:59 pm Thanks for the quick replies with that one. We had an appointment with Midland brick last week but at the time we were contemplating a Jasper Roof and she guided us more towards the Woodland grey as she thought it was very difficult to get Cedar gables/garage door to look good with Jasper as the two different browns don't match. We think the Woodland grey will probably work because it is a very common choice, and does look good but we were tossing around ideas of a lighter roof, because of both energy efficient reasons and that the lighter colours seem to fade less. The brick tends to have a caramelly type tone and we are trying to find a colour that complements it. Any thoughts or opinions would be great Re: Confusion over colours on externals 7Jan 11, 2010 12:21 pm Yes option 2 it’s more striking. But if your trying to work with a more energy efficient roofing, and thus you should, how about this combo.
