(P.S. this has helped us out with choosing colours so much -I highly recommend both of them!) Roof & some render is surfmist, the dark grey colour is dulux monk and the white is just white for the moment (there is another dilemma if we go with scheme 2 ). If Michelle sees this and could possibly post the colours, that would be great, I cant work out how to do it SCHEME 1 Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ SCHEME 2 Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ In brief, we want something fresh and modern, and we are on a canal block northern gold coast QLD. This is my thread in case anyone is interested: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=26066 I really like both for different reasons. Number 2, we were a bit worried about there being a chequered pattern - do you think it looks chequered? Because the water is the feature im pretty sure the water is facing north and the front of the house is facing south. Here is a picture of what the garage looks like, not quite sure on the name of it: http://i910.photobucket.com/albums/ac304/ms_builder/Garagedoor2.jpg Re: Your opinions please everyone! 4Dec 17, 2009 12:45 pm Scheme 1 if you want the facade to look understated - subdued. Scheme 2 if you want the garage door to make a statement, as the dark render around it will act as a 'picture' frame - dramatic Both are great but depends what you want to achieve. Really what we want to acheive is a decent looking house We are probably quite young compared to other home owners in there and want to reflect that a little. Initially we wanted a mainly surfmist looking house with a few dark grey features but that has certainly changed now we can visualise it. Once I decide, im not looking at pictures of the facade again and im going to stick my head in the sand until its painted! I have to admit, I have been changing the goal posts A LOT, so you really have nothing to defend! SuH Our house is in similar colours. It's very nice by the way Ummm, I really love how #2 makes a feature of that fabulous garage. They both look good but I like 2 best. Are there any pictures of your house we can take a look at?! I just do But honestly, I think either would look fantastic! You can't lose! Re: Your opinions please everyone! 13Dec 17, 2009 2:35 pm Another vote for option #2 viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22766 - my build thread! Time waits for no man. Unless that man is Chuck Norris. Re: Your opinions please everyone! 14Dec 17, 2009 2:36 pm I dont understand your question, but my house is rendered surfmist, and I think it is too bright, if I had to do it again I would go Shale Grey. I will post a picture if you like. Re: Your opinions please everyone! 16Dec 17, 2009 2:43 pm Quote: This I get so confused with. We have whats called a north facing block. Because the water is the feature im pretty sure the water is facing north and the front of the house is facing south. Usually an X facing block means the front of the block which faces the street is facing X so by that your house would be facing north - presuming front of house faces the street?? Anyway, to be sure - go to your block in the evening, face the setting sun - that direction is west, to the right of you is north, to the left is south and east is behind you. Or go in the morning, face the rising sun - that direction is east, to the right of you is south, to the left is east, behind you is west. The sun rises in the east and sets in the west. The directions go clockwise in the order - North, east, south west - Never Eat Soggy Weetbix Geography lesson over Re: Your opinions please everyone! 17Dec 17, 2009 2:50 pm Mango I like No2 as well but would change the white render to a slighter lighter verson of the monk or even a different colour. I just think the white is a bit stark. Yes, I see what you mean. This was thrown on there without much thought - hadnt even thought about a "shade" of white yet. It was just to bring that part of the house forward and give it another dimension. buildingwithhamra I dont understand your question, but my house is rendered surfmist, and I think it is too bright, if I had to do it again I would go Shale Grey. I will post a picture if you like. I dont have a question, im asking for people's opinions on what they think and what they would do with it. We are going for a light house - My initial instructions to Michelle were basically an all white house with highlights of a dark grey colour. We were almost thinking surfmist was too dark P.S I would love you to post a picture! Re: Your opinions please everyone! 18Dec 17, 2009 2:59 pm I came across this facade. Seems similar to yours ? What colour windows will you have? (sorry if I missed that on here) If the windows are darker then option number 1 will work best, espescially if you get the lines in the garage door to be darker. The closest I can find to what I mean is number 2 in the acrylic doors in this link. http://www.autolift.com.au/sectional.html# With white windows then I prefer number 2.
