Our bedroom has a main wall behind the bed, and there will be two small shutters covering these. On the opposite wall, there is a sliding door, which will have sunscreen blinds, and will need curtains as well. The side wall has a large window, with sunscreen blinds, curtains needed here. Our bed is without a frame, so I was also thinking of making an upholstered bedhead for it. Now, I know the print cannot go everywhere , but where should I put it? Good luck with it...you can have a lot of fun there Re: Help me!! Master bedroom decoration... 5Dec 08, 2009 10:54 pm And if you do the upholstered bedhead, its simple to change when you decide on something different! Although, depending on your room colour (and if your partner allows it ), I can see it being the feature of the entire wall behind your bed... I bargained him in to letting me have a feature wall behind our bed (lets see if he remembers when the time comes ) Have you seen this print IRL? Or just the image (reason i ask is because things can look very different in person) Custom European Cabinets - Melbourne Kitchen Specialist PM for business details as website currently being updated! I love it from that pic btw! If you do a beadhead, you could make some matching cushions for the bed too Custom European Cabinets - Melbourne Kitchen Specialist PM for business details as website currently being updated! Master bedroom decoration... 11Dec 09, 2009 12:35 am Ok, my current thought is to do a feature wall, and get a small amount of the fabric to to curtain ties on a plain beige-y curtain and a cushion for the bed or a chair. Thoughts? Michelle, feel free to comment either way here! I don't mind negative comments Re: Help me!! I’ll get back in later today; I have a meeting to get ready for. 1 thing, I don’t want to see that wallpaper and a bed head together….. Got a photo of your bed? Now am leaning towards not doing that, but doing the feature wall, and then using the print in small amounts around the room. Eg a cushion, and curtain tie backs only. Re: Help me!! Master bedroom decoration... 14Dec 09, 2009 2:45 pm Caroline that sounds like a great idea! Re: Help me!! I actually like the first print much better, the first has impact, the second is quite bland to my taste. IMPO - a BIG no to curtain tie-backs. They can work if your decor is classic or country style, but using a print like that you need to keep it very sleek and modern. I love the upholstered bed head idea, I'd go with the print on a cushion on a plain covered chair if you have room for it. Re: Help me!! Master bedroom decoration... 18Dec 10, 2009 11:22 am Do you have any dresser or tallboy? You could do tbale runners & cushions or even a bed runner which would incorparate the fabric on a small scale. I love the idea of the print for a pelmet, but what about doing that above the bed? like a small canopy? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ You could do sheers as in this picture with a chocolate brown edging instead of the blue. I'm guessing you are going with choc browns & neutrals, have you thought of adding in a small amount of bright colour like yellow? The fabric…how about you buy a couple of large canvases, put the fabric on those and hanging them above your bed. Then do your curtains, when and if you get sick of them above the bed, you just replace the canvases with the new fabric. Totally new look……..
