Just wondering...can you paint a wall decal??? Say maybe in the colour of any feature wall u are using or other colours throughout house??????? Just thinking out loud! Re: Another question from me....wall decals 3Nov 06, 2009 6:49 pm Yeah, green would have been nice, since I have that a lot elsewhere.... Maybe I just need to keep searching for a similar one in green - gotta be somewhere on the net MagicJ I finally have my own reno thread: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=28335 The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue! Re: Another question from me....wall decals 4Nov 06, 2009 7:31 pm Hey again Mj. I had just re-read my thread and not sure if I had written it right, I had meant could you paint over that wall decal (rather than paint your own)...buy that particular one if you really like it, then paint it in Nick's Nook or something ( i think that was the colour of your splashback???) Maybe if you want a shimmer look then after painting it spray in a shimmer gloss spray???? I have been looking at them myself so will keep a look out for one in green...goodluck! Re: Another question from me....wall decals 5Nov 06, 2009 9:05 pm Thanks heaps, Belle.....I have never bought one of these decals before, so have no idea what they are like, or if they are paintable - it's an interesting thought though... Oh, I'm glad to find someone else who loves it, Annietom - I had it in our last house too, I really like it, like a lovely warm cream. Parts of our current house are quite dark, so I needed a light flow colour - that, at least, was an easy choice for me. Most people on here prefer the darker versions, it seems . Re: Another question from me....wall decals 13Nov 12, 2009 8:19 pm Why don't you buy the decal, put it on with blue tack, ligtly trace around it lightly with a pencil, remove the decal and then paint inside the shape with the colour you want. (use a kids paintbrush) It's easy. You can do it. By the way I LOVE DECALS, just have to talk the DH into it. www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: Another question from me....wall decals 14Nov 12, 2009 8:22 pm themax Why don't you buy the decal, put it on with blue tack, ligtly trace around it lightly with a pencil, remove the decal and then paint inside the shape with the colour you want. I haven't told DH yet - no doubt he will come across this post though - he is also a regular on this forum, albeit a silent one !! You sound really artistic, theMax - I wish I had your confidence ! I suppose there's not much damage I can do, is there? And it would look really nice in Nick's Nook.... Edit: Maybe I should get DH to paint the whole wall in Nick's Nook, we have some paint left over....then the gold decal would show up no problem. Then again, a feature wall in a powder room might be a dicky idea .
