Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Nov 06, 2009 1:26 pm Hi Michelle and other style gurus, We are just deciding what we want to do with DS(1)'s room. It's an extremely sunny room (3 big west facing windows) so I have chosen navy blue block-out curtains so that he can sleep during the day. We also have a navy blue rocking chair in the room. DH does not want to buy any more paint, since I've changed my mind a few times and we have heaps of paint left-over . My little man's existing theme, if you like, is "Jungle". So what I was thinking was: Feature wall behind the head of cot, Dulux Senate Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Other three walls, Dulux Esprit: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This is his Hiccups Safari bed linen: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And I want to put these wall decals on his Senate feature wall (love these ): Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Anyway, my question really is, will the Dulux Senate and the Dulux Esprit look OK together and with the other bits and pieces I am putting together? Any input appreciated, as always.............. MagicJ I finally have my own reno thread: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=28335 The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue! Re: Can this blue and green be seen? 2Nov 06, 2009 1:30 pm I reckon those two colours look great together!! We had a feature wall very similar to your navy blue one in our old house and I find it matched most things. And the jungle decals are so adorable, where did you find them??? Caz & Co ALL MOVED IN!! Now comes all the hard work-decorating.... Maybe they would be better on the Esprit wall, but not sure if the green branch would clash with the Esprit.............. Oh man, I hate colours Hi Caz, don't remember how I came across them, they are from this site: http://www.forwallsdecals.com/ I love all their stuff!!!! Post Boy: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Senate: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ It goes together just fine, I know, but doesn't seem very "Junglely" - so maybe it would look silly with my jungle decals? Re: Can this blue and green be seen? 6Nov 06, 2009 5:00 pm Thanks, SuH - I would rather have some green for the jungle theme, I think, so I'm glad you and Caz think they go together . I would be sad if you couldn't see the spidey, he is one of the cutest parts, I think ( says the woman who goes into a hysterical panic whenever a real one comes near !!) Re: Can this blue and green be seen? 7Nov 06, 2009 5:21 pm Are the decal's removable? Because if they are your original colours will look fantastic when he's older. If not, maybe put the decals on Esprit wall as they will stand out more. You don't have to put them on the feature wall. I think the Esprit and Senate look more jungly, but they aren't jungle colours. However, I've seen lots of rooms that the paint isn't part of the look but because of how it's dressed up it doesn't matter. Re: Can this blue and green be seen? 8Nov 06, 2009 5:44 pm Thanks, Mrs Smith - they are SUPPOSED to be removable, hopefully that is true . I was definitely thinking of putting them on the Esprit wall, but wasn't sure if the green of the branch might clash with the Esprit green (maybe that doesn't matter so much in a kiddie's room ?) The Esprit is about as jungly as I can get, as DH doesn't want to buy more paint. As you say, it's also good to have colours they can use when they are older, saves repainting the room. I know it is above and beyond the call of duty, but I don't suppose you could try the same with the green Esprit colour, could you? Just for comparison purposes?
