Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Nov 04, 2009 6:37 pm Need help, what colour feature wall for minor bedroom with this bedroom suite - http://www.fortywinks.com.au/bedroom-fu ... =1&image=9 Unsure what colour/type linen and cushions...this will depend on the wall colour. Intend to paint just the one wall the bed is on. Every other wall, skirting, architrave and ceiling is in DULUX BEIGE ROYAL 1/4. Carpet is a latte colour. Blinds are timber Mahogany (burgundy-ish). Was thinking of orange, navy blue or olive green. Do you know any good colours that could suit the colours and bed Ive said? BTW dont want an orange that is too bright and in-your-face. Or should I just keep it white?? Any suggestions?? Probably limit the paint to Wattyl or Dulux colours only. Thanks!!!!!! Re: What colour feature wall?? 2Nov 04, 2009 6:42 pm Maybe Dulux Puddle or Knot. http://www.dulux.com.au/colour/colour-g ... ery/browns It sounds like you have enough color in there already without bring in any other tones. Anything else will start limiting your decorating options Re: What colour feature wall?? 3Nov 04, 2009 6:58 pm dadandsue Maybe Dulux Puddle or Knot. http://www.dulux.com.au/colour/colour-g ... ery/browns It sounds like you have enough color in there already without bring in any other tones. I want the room to look a bit sophisticated and eye catching. Re: What colour feature wall?? 4Nov 04, 2009 7:09 pm IMO doing this lets you have what ever colours you want on your bedding etc. Lets say you had a green wall - you are then totally limited to other decorating. Have a look at some displays with strong but still neutral brown walls - you might really find them calming and soothing Re: What colour feature wall?? 5Nov 04, 2009 7:15 pm I reckon a nice olive green or a deep blue. I'm a big fan of orange, but probably too full on for a bedroom. There's this Wattyl colour called Birthstone. I'm thinking of using it somewhere... I painted up a board of it... it's kind of a deep dirty bluey-grey-brown..... sounds disgusting but it's not. It would look great with your Beige Royale 1/4.... it goes beautifully with my White Pepper. I'll take a pic of the board for you tomorrow. It's a really sophisticated colour. I wouldn't do brown...... but I hate brown. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Im probably leaning towards a dark blue, not orange or green.. so cant wait to see Birthstone!! Re: What colour feature wall?? 9Nov 04, 2009 7:52 pm I just tried to take a pic of the Birthstone.... it's coming out a bit wrong in this light. I'll get some better one's tomorrow in natural light. But it is Oaks Day and I'll be somewhere so it might be Friday. Here it is with my floor tile and the White Pepper..... excuse the paw prints, my cat walked over it as it was drying. http://i519.photobucket.com/albums/u353/joles_photo/2009-11-04_20-30-44_041120091358.jpg I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. It looks like a brown in that pic?? Youd better get a pic in natural light! Your cat!! Re: What colour feature wall?? 11Nov 05, 2009 5:49 pm I've also seen in a display home a wall paper exactly the same shade as dulux senate with gold (metallic gold, not yellow) pin stripes in it and the room was so latte. It looked fabulous. The pillows on the bed were the same colour as the feature wall too which just finished the look, and the doona cover was a brown swede-finish (that's the best decription I can think of - sorry!). It looked fabulous. It was only a minor room, but one of the favourite ones I've seen. Also, they had a big mirror across the bed with a gold frame too, and the colour of the feature wall also went onto the other side of the room, which looked great. Also made the room look bigger. I love that shade of blue though Re: What colour feature wall?? 12Nov 05, 2009 5:50 pm Yes I like the blue MJ….timeless also. It looked fabulous with black and dark timber colours. I had a dooner which was mostly white with a silver leaf pattern on it, it looked pretty good Re: What colour feature wall?? 14Nov 05, 2009 6:37 pm mrs_smith I've also seen in a display home a wall paper exactly the same shade as dulux senate with gold (metallic gold, not yellow) pin stripes in it and the room was so latte. We are having Sheridan Newbury bedlinen: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ So our accent colours are more pewter/pale greeny gold as per the linen rather than latte (curtains are a very very very pale sage and carpets will be greeny-grey, hard to explain but I think it will look good) , but I still think latte would look excellent also . PS I am also a HUGE Baltic fan too. MagicJ I finally have my own reno thread: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=28335 The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue!
