And you know, Sandy Day...I remember noticing it and liking it way back when we were considering colours for our whole apartment, but for some reason...I can't recall why, we eliminated it at some stage in the decision-making process. But looking at that now...it may be quite perfect for my ensuite...not grey or green-based yellow (which totally clashes with the pale pinks and apricot hues of my ensuite, but it's also not too pinky/mauve which I also don't want. I don't want to encourage more pink tones in the room. I have discovered (a bit late, but it's no big issue) that I like warm tones more than cool ones. (although having said that, do I even know what warm and cool are? Probably not. lol But in my mind, I like warmer tones...more pale browns, mushrooms, fawns, although sometimes they can be sort of cool/neutral...I've gone off pinkish-based or mauve-based shades) Anyway, I'm going to the Dulux website right now to do further research (not that I haven't gathered 50 million cardboard colour samples from Bunnings already, but meh) lol How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! Re: Grace!! 3Oct 31, 2009 8:01 pm I do see a slight hint of pink in it, but once in a small darkish room, it could work well. Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Grace!! 4Oct 31, 2009 8:17 pm Yeah, there is pinkish in it, but to me (and yep, especially in a darker room), that pinkish hue comes out more as a dusky fawn colour... But hey, say this is my lighter shade, what would go best with it in terms of the darker feature wall colour? I'd want to not bring out any more of the pink in this shade though...but at the same time, obviously a blatantly yellow-based shade would look odd. What about these options? Which way would this colour make the Sandy Day 1/2 go? 1. http://www.dulux.com.au/colour/colour-g ... ery/browns (page 1/10)...sorry, it won't move on to the next page(s) when I post the link. If you go down to the squares of colour, Soft Impala I quite like I think. This is probably quite pinkish but a warm pink...if you lightened it, it'd end up pinkish I think...but I'm not sure. However, I think this is too dark for my room, only because you see on this page also there's Puddle? In Bunnings I kept being drawn to this colour, and I do like it, but when I get the cardboard sample home and in the ensuite, it looks very dark. Maybe not TOO dark at all, it could be just right, but Soft Impala is darker so...this could appear black (lol, obviously an exaggeration, but you get my point) in my ensuite. Oh, actually, scrap Soft Impala. I just went to page 10/10 and BLEGH! It looks totally purple! lol I also like Warm Neutral, but on my screen right now it looks quite perfect for what I want, but in real life, I eliminated it a while ago cause it looked totally grey/yellow in my ensuite. 2. http://www.dulux.com.au/colour/colour-g ... ery/browns (3/10) These 2 colours used in the pic of the room, they'd suit my ensuite just fine, but I find the Sago group quite pink/mauve...sort of...I like them, but I just don't know if I'd be overjoyed to be spending time in the ensuite with those colours... 3. http://www.dulux.com.au/colour/colour-g ... ery/browns (7/10) If you ignore the White Opal colour in the top pic (I just put my hand over the left side of the room so I can only see the darkest colour and that narrow strip of wall with the Raw Cotton shade on it) I actually think these 2 would look quite nice in my ensuite, but I think I may even have had Raw Cotton as a cardboard sample and didn't like it. And Coconut Husk is SO dark in my ensuite, but maybe darkness could be cosy and inviting...? http://www.dulux.com.au/colour/colour-g ... ery/browns (9/10) I quite like Snuggle Pie in the pic of the room...Shetland Lace I recall as being very pink which I don't want...but I can't really see it in the picture of that room... Oh, and ALSO (would I be your worst nightmare as a real life customer? lol), I find my tolerance for 2 different colours setting each other off in a good way is much higher when they're used on surfaces like...say one colour is like a border for another. Like a skirting board and a wall. One is much narrower than the other much wider/broader surface of colour. I love that sort of look, like the exterior of a house that's got a lighter trim and a darker main wall, you know? So I have to be a bit careful not to go towards colours I love in that way, cause my ensuite would just be flat walls...3 flat walls really. No trim, etc. No textures in that way. Anyway, there you go!! lol (oh, the cardboard shades I've been keeping in my ensuite as the ones I think I've narrowed down to my favourites are Puddle, Tuft, Natural Beige...oh, I can't remember. Not all of them are Dulux anyway) How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! Re: Grace!! 5Oct 31, 2009 8:20 pm Can I also just ask something...see this picture of the room here on Page 15/15... http://www.dulux.com.au/colour/colour-g ... y/neutrals Where exactly is the hogs bristle in the room!?!? It all looks the same and pale to me. Is it half or quarter combined with a light room? How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Grace!! 8Oct 31, 2009 8:31 pm LMAO, I don't think they put Hogs Bristle in there at all, you know. Or maybe they accidentally fell on the paint can, kicked it over and some splashed onto a tiny part of the wall which they then covered with a table. But they had to mention it anyway. lol Yes, I do like Warm Neutral...I just think when I put it in the room, it looked incredibly green/grey-based. How the hell did I become a senior member!?
