Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Oct 19, 2009 8:57 pm Hi guys, I thought i was all decided, going to have a light coffee coloured splashback to match the island back but now i notice it looks a bit more mushroom brown than a latte colour. Colours always look so different on a large scale, and boy did i find this out the hard way when we painted the walls. Did a last minute dash to have the tin re coloured to tone down overly yellow paint. Its now a light green grey which goes well with the benchtops. I dont know if you can see all the colours well from the photo? Any colour on the walls would have been better than peach. Anyway, i'm now leaning towards having a green /grey lightish metallic splashback. Any suggestions on colours i could get a sample of? I would love to get opinions on any colour you think would work but i'm wanting to keep it light. Partly finished kitchen. http://s568.photobucket.com/albums/ss12 ... C00294.jpg I'm just nervous as this is now the very, very last decision on my long kitchen journey. Is that painted glass? Michelle, the front of the island is a plain brown laminate, cant remember what its called but not a laminex colour. I originally thought it was more of a coffee colour but now its up it looks more of a mushroom brown with a slight pink tone. I want a light splashback, maybe greeny grey, maybe something else but definately light. Would love to hear what you think would work. I think i need to get a few sample pots so i dont end up which a shock. I do also like chocolate colours but dont think it would go with my cupboards and tossing up between coffee and the greeny grey. I almost wanted a bronze splashback but dont think i'm brave enough. I guess i want to keep the splash simple so the granite stands out more. Re: What colour splashback would you choose? 6Oct 21, 2009 4:18 pm I quite like the colour on the front. So it must be polyurethane to get that shine. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The other option I think would look good is the plain green tint glass, no colour at all behind it. Especially now you already have a colour on the front of the bench. Best not to go overboard with too many colours. I was worried it will look different to the splashback and i thought if its going to look different anyway, maybe i should just get a colour. I just dont know. I'll wait till the doors arrive to make my final decision, i just wanted to get an outside perspective because i'm going round in circles. BTW the island back is not 2 pack. Its some sort of gloss board. Looks good but the finish doesnt have that smooth gloss with depth that 2 pack poly has, but it was a lot cheaper.
