Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Oct 18, 2009 4:22 pm Hi Michelle and others, PLEASE HELP! Here we are once again second guessing colour choices...uggghhhh! It never ends. Anyway we are fully bricked now (see pic below) and are seriously contemplating whether we have made the right colour choice for our front door and garage door. We initially chose "Loft" for both but now looking at the facade we think it might be too dark/ too much! What do you think? The front 6 windows will also be tinted a very dark black, making it even darker. Our fascia's are "Shale Grey" and we are thinking of one of the following options... * Changing BOTH garage door and front door to Shale grey * Changing just the garage door to Shale grey, keeping front door in the loft * Leaving them both Loft OR Something else anyone is willing to suggest....lol http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p371/brojas7906/1bf5cbbf.jpg http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p371/brojas7906/f74d3d41.jpg Thank you in advance for any help! Re: Calling out to Micccchhhhhele, please help? 3Oct 19, 2009 2:58 pm Hi SuH, Thanks for your input, I appreciate it! One question though...Do you think bringing yet another colour into this colour scheme is a good idea? The only reason I decided on Shale Grey is to blend with the windows and the fascias, also not to bring in another colour?! Me so confused! One question though...Do you think bringing yet another colour into this colour scheme is a good idea? The only reason I decided on Shale Grey is to blend with the windows and the fascias, also not to bring in another colour?! Me so confused! Ahhhhhhh I see. What colour is the roof, is it dark brown or like a plumb colour. On the CB website it looks purplish. Re: Calling out to Micccchhhhhele, please help? 5Oct 19, 2009 3:10 pm Have a go at this pf, I'm not sure if the colours on here are accurate or not but it might help you. http://colorbond.autech.com.au/onlinevi ... esidential Re: Calling out to Micccchhhhhele, please help? 6Oct 19, 2009 3:37 pm Hey SuH, Yeah the roof is "Loft", which depending on the light of the day varies between a light browny colour to a deep browny purpleish, it's such a mixed box of all sorts this roof. Thanks for the link, I have been on there for many hours tossing and turning about what way we want to go, it's all just too dam hard! I think it will be too dark also, I agree with SuH. What colour are the window frames? It's hard to see in the pic. Maybe you could go a lighter colour that appears in the bricks. I think Jasper would be nice as SuH said. www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: Calling out to Micccchhhhhele, please help? 9Oct 19, 2009 7:34 pm Hi all, Themax: The windows are aluminium and we tried matching the fascias by choosing Shale grey for them. Might go and have another look at the CB website and see what the Jasper looks like. It may already be too late, as the garage door may already be ordered and if thats the case, we will proberly just leave it, depending on how much $$$ they want to charge us to change it. Thanks guys, I appreciate your help. Building Thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=13002 Site start: 8th July 2009 Handover: 11/12/2009! 5 months total build time. 40 sqs of luxuary...Bliss! Re: Calling out to Micccchhhhhele, please help? 10Oct 19, 2009 7:54 pm I wouldn't go Jasper with Loft.....purple & brown....not nice.....If it's not too late, I'd go for the Shale Grey Garage door but think you could get away with the Loft front door. BTW, I don't think it looks really dark at the moment. Hi MBBN, Thanks for the response, this is what we are thinking also, as the front door is set so far back I think we would get away with keeping it loft. My DH and I were on the CB visuliser together last night and from our results he seems to think we should just leave it as is, but I'm still undecided, will be great to get Michelle's professional opinion on this one before we decide for good. I'll call GJG today and see if it's to late to change it, as this may decide our fate for us. Re: Calling out to Micccchhhhhele, please help? 12Oct 20, 2009 10:35 am Just called the builder and looks like it's too late to change it, it's already on it's way. Not to worry, will be interesting to see if it's too dark or not. Thanks for your help anyway! You can always choose a light driveway and paths if you think the house needs a lift. Add your colour with grevilleas or other native flowering shrubs. Re: Calling out to Micccchhhhhele, please help? 15Oct 20, 2009 4:09 pm I think it’s nice to have the roof matching the g/doors. If you want you can do your front door lighter, as it’s the one in the shadows and may need a lift.
