Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Oct 03, 2009 3:30 pm I'm getting some carpet laid next week once we move out, to freshen up our house ready for sale. I've gotten a quote for a nice nylon carpet for our three small bedrooms and hallways but now need to decide on the colour! Its a very small house 12sq so assume it would appeal to investors as a rental property as there isa huge lack in our area - or to first home buyers. So when picking a colour: do I pick a light colour to make the place seem bigger? Or do I pick a darker one for contrast, look more modern and more long lasting?? The rest of the house has floorboards like this light beech colour: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ and the walls are this sort of colour (lighter version of): Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ and all windows will have white aluminium venetians: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ help!! We wanted to replace our carpet and the agent said not to - dont spend $4000 on the house just to add $4000 onto the sale price. Also, sometimes you dont recoup what you spend. I would go for a medium shade Taupe colour that is easier to clean but not so dark that it shows pieces of lint and fluff etc. Building in Bella Vista Waters Sydney.
