Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Oct 02, 2009 6:40 pm Hi Michelle, You previously kindly offered some advice re a white paint to go with white birch windows. You suggested Stowe white. I got a sample pot and it is lovely and matches perfectly but I think it is too yellow for the look I want. I have grey concrete floors and have chosen a taupey carpet. I like dulux natural white. Do you think it will work with the white birch windows? A friend has antique white USA and this works and could be a fallback. If I was convinced the natural white would work without the windows drawing attention for their creamy yellow tones I would do that. Your help would be much appreciated. Emac. PS My Dad loves the Stowe white and thinks your suggestion is perfect. I think I'll paint the guest bedroom in Stowe just for him. Re: Dulux natural white? 2Oct 02, 2009 6:50 pm Glad your dad loves the colour…. ![]() The White Birch is more yellow than the stowe white, I was just trying to make it all work together. ![]() Natural White will work also. ![]() Natural While Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Stowe White Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Internal and External - Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide Re: Dulux natural white? 3Oct 02, 2009 8:26 pm Hi Michelle, Yes the windows are more yellow. That is the problem. I wish I didn't choose them because I feel they are limiting my colour choices. If I went with natural white do you think I should do trims etc and ceiling all in the same colour? Do you think the windows will look hideously yellow against the natural white? Thanks, Emac Re: Dulux natural white? 5Oct 02, 2009 8:56 pm No not in all rooms. In the living area we have four leaf sliding doors that span just over four metres on both the North and South sides. We haven't decided on window dressing and whether we will have any. We are on a rural property with no visible neighbours so privacy is not an inssue. I have been told though that windows don't really effect wall colour because they become part of the outside view. Not sure about this. Is it right that I should take the window colour into account or should I just forget the window colour when choosing the wall colour? I have never built before and so I don't have any experience with bringing it all together. If I had lovely hardwood floors and not concrete I think the stowe white would look good. Because we are having concrete floors and taupe carpet I think I need a more modern white. Now if only I hadn't chosen those white birch windows..... Warm Regards, Emac Re: Dulux natural white? 6Oct 07, 2009 5:57 pm Put it this way, there is more wall than there is window frame, so your wall colour is more important. ![]() I think you will be fine the Natural White.
