Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Sep 29, 2009 12:30 pm What would you hang over you fireplace, a mirror or artwork? our fireplace is painted Wattyl Donkey (was supposed to be stacked stone but never got around to it!) I like the idea of an artwork but cannot find the right piece for the room but hubby hates the idea of a mirror because he feels like he will be seeing himself all the time. What would you do or have done? pics would be great. Re: Mirror vs Artwork over fireplace 2Sep 29, 2009 1:33 pm MagicJ I finally have my own reno thread: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=28335 The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue! Re: Mirror vs Artwork over fireplace 6Sep 30, 2009 4:41 pm I'd go with giant artwork or similar (the clocks a good idea!!) I tend to scare myself when walking past mirrors... i don't expect to see someone next to me is all!! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22766 - my build thread! Time waits for no man. Unless that man is Chuck Norris. Re: Mirror vs Artwork over fireplace 7Sep 30, 2009 7:06 pm Rosypaige…it really comes down to personal choice here and what you can find to go with the Donkey. Donkey is a strong colour, so art work to match that might take some time to find. I like mirrors also…..take your time with it, look at things everywhere you go, try and visualise what things would look like on the wall, there’s no rush, so get ideas first. Here’s my old fireplace. I put two of the 11kg ones in for a 12kg mirror on the wall, and its been great for 4 years now. 4 2080 Hi all, My first post, we are building a house and can’t decide the layout of the lounge room. We have a large N/W facing window and are wanting to have a wood slow… 0 13719 No the fireplace doesn’t work. It’s been enclosed. I’m not sure what was removed, as it was done quite some time ago - well before what I can see with photos online… 2 11569 |
