What do you think of this, for my daughter's room. She is nearly 3. This is the bed linen I have bought, I have all the pieces except the "I love you" cushion. Do you think it's too much? There is a rectangular window in each side of her bed where this wallpaper would go, what do you think would be best to go here? I was thinking a neutral blockout blind, then sewing some ribbons on a plain set of cream curtains to finish it off. Advice before I spend the $$$$ on the wallpaper, please! The wallpaper is made of real ribbons, so it's pretty pricey... In our master bedroom, was thinking about something like this (if I can actually source it) as a feature wall- Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I prefer neutral and earthy tones, but don't want a boring room. I was thinking of getting some mirrored bedside tables too.... Re: House styling questions... 2Sep 28, 2009 9:54 pm It's a little full on for me (sorry) , especially with the patterned linen . I absolutely love the linen though, the red is so gorgeous!! Re: House styling questions... 4Sep 28, 2009 10:03 pm Love the bedding, very nice. Yes I’d give the wallpaper a miss as well, on its own it would work, or with white bedding. And that’s if little miss 3 didn’t decide to pick the ribbons off the wall in boredom. To busy with both together. There is a nice green in the linen, have you thought about a feature wall in green? Re: House styling questions... 6Sep 28, 2009 10:05 pm I think dont do anything to the bed wall, as in the pic above. Your daughter is only 3 years old, dont do anything too dramatic as she will grow out of that. Re: House styling questions... 7Sep 28, 2009 10:08 pm Thanks guys. Yes Mango, my first thought was to do a feature wall in the green, but then I found the wallpaper! I do love it, but think you are all right, it's too much. My DH will be happy, it is very expensive and would need to be sent from the Netherlands. Now I can do the ribbon curtains instead? I think I will get my ribbon fix this way . Thoughts on the master bedroom wallpaper? Re: House styling questions... 9Sep 28, 2009 10:10 pm Salt&PepperMkII I think dont do anything to the bed wall, as in the pic above. Good advice, will probably make the curtains and decide on the feature walls when we have lived in the house while... Re: House styling questions... 10Sep 28, 2009 10:11 pm CarolineJ What do you think, MagicJ, a painted feature wall? I think the green or the white would work, whichever you (and Miss 3) like better. The white looks very elegant in the picture and really makes the gorgeous bed linen the feature. But I am a big fan of bright colour for little kids - I think it stimulates them and makes them feel happy. So the green would also work from that perspective - you can always repaint it later if she gets sick of it. Most kids don't get sick of things until they are a bit older and start getting more opinionated (and having opinionated friends !) Maybe you could ask your daughter which she prefers? Re: House styling questions... 11Sep 29, 2009 10:45 am Hi CJ, I actually love the idea of the wallpaper and bedlinen as long as they are not on the same wall and depending on how big the room is. If you are putting the bed on a different wall to the wallpaper it will work in the same room. The other suggestion is to get smaller pieces of the wallpaper(alot of the shops to sell offcuts in their seconds bin) which are big enough to use on canvas as ddecorative wall art...then you can easily recover in the future when your daughter isn't as interested....... I should mention I love bold and happy bedrooms... Oh and another thought as you seem like you might be creative......you could actually go and buy lots of ribbon off cuts and make your own canvas with ribbon and painted sections as a feature. Great bedroom paper and the mirror sides would add some decadence.... I know a great wallpaper place and hanger if you need....PM me.
