Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Sep 28, 2009 12:13 am The entire living area in our new house is pretty open plan. The walls will all be painted in a Taubmans colour, Sea Commander, at half strength (I don't have a sample for this, but its a soft grey blue). The kitchen benches are Brittany blue Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The benchtop will be caesarstone oyster (a mid grey). Here's a pic of the kitchen, installed this week - the stove top will be on the back wall. This pic shows the cupboards, the benchtop sample and the glass together Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I loooove colour, and I'm really happy with the way the blues and greys I've chosen are generally coming together, but now I'm second guessing the glass colour, I wanted more oomph, and I love the colour, but will it be too much, next to the window in the kitchen? I also agree that a silver would look ace!!! MagicJ I finally have my own reno thread: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=28335 The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue! Re: Splashback too much? 4Sep 28, 2009 9:09 am I agree with the others I think it will look too much as your introducing another colour of blue, and they could clash with each other. I would go a contrasting colour, silver would work or sparkle type of white or grey. What are you using for your floors maybe you could pick up the colour of them. I would try and keep it close to the benchtop colour so it looks kind of seemless going from bench to wall. Re: Splashback too much? 8Sep 28, 2009 10:49 am I think you might be sorry if you do that….. I love the colour, but my original mental vision was a deep sapphire blue, so I might look into that again. *sigh* I still want colour in the splashback... I'd be more inclined to go for a metallic silver. It will highlight the cupboard colours and you can change your accents easily with it. Judie Re: Splashback too much? 12Sep 29, 2009 10:55 pm Yep, the colours together are a big NO NO!!! It wouldve looked good if you had white cupboards..
