Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Sep 25, 2009 9:48 pm Howdy everyone, While I have been stressing about my interior colours, it has just dawned me that my colour appointment is on Monday morning eekkkkkkkkk I would like to ask for suggestions for the outside of my shack I think I have narrowed it down to Austral Nougat http://i440.photobucket.com/albums/qq129/EljayC/nougat.jpg and either teaming that with Monier Barramundi Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ or Monier Sambucca Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I need help choosing a colour for the gutter, fascia, garage door and front door. I'm not affraid to use colour, but do want it to look good. If you know what I mean lol I will render the portico area probably after handover and have no idea of colour yet. I guess that will decide what colour door etc?? I just don't know. Here is what my facade looks like...as the lady from D*vine said its rather plain and boring lol Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Thanks again Deposits paid 29/4/09 Land settlement 12/08/09 Build contract signed 24/08/09 Colours done 28/09/09 BLOG-http://www.eljaysbuild.blogspot.com/ Re: Please help with my facade :( 3Sep 25, 2009 10:06 pm Nup lol I know I don't want: White, cream or light grey (silver). So I guess that leaves mid grey, dark grey, black etc... Does that help?? lmao Hopeless aren't I hahaha Deposits paid 29/4/09 Land settlement 12/08/09 Build contract signed 24/08/09 Colours done 28/09/09 BLOG-http://www.eljaysbuild.blogspot.com/ Re: Please help with my facade :( 5Sep 25, 2009 10:23 pm Nope!!!! Not hopeless at all. Our neighbours house is up for sale on realestate.com.au. Now this is hopeless.... i don't know how to post a link BUT if you go to that site and go to the "buy" section..... property id # is XXXXXXXXX. They have a brick like yours.... see if you like it. May give you some ideas.
You're nearly there Lorree buzz Re: Please help with my facade :( 6Sep 25, 2009 10:30 pm That's awesome, thanks so much Buzz!!! I like that dark grey on the window frames. I think black might be to much. O.k, well that's one thing I'm more clearer on lol If not i'm not hopeless, I'd hate to see someone who is lol I've had my head in kitchen mags for weeks now and complete forgot that I had my colours app. on Monday sheesh!! lol Deposits paid 29/4/09 Land settlement 12/08/09 Build contract signed 24/08/09 Colours done 28/09/09 BLOG-http://www.eljaysbuild.blogspot.com/ Re: Please help with my facade :( 7Sep 25, 2009 10:45 pm No problems, that dark grey is woodland grey.... does tend to have a bit of green in it, but teamed with woodland grey gutters, it's not obvious to me They have WG gutters and windows, paperbark fascia and garage and those external painted bits are paperbark too. i walk past this house a few times every day and it is so beautiful. The front door is either colorbond colour manor red or headland, that looks great too, and they have a woodland grey crimsafe type screen door. Those light bits could be replaced with say... dune or something else Likewise the dark gutters and windows could be something else. The man next door said the roof is sanctuary (bristile I think) it is a dark grey. Hopefully that helps to work out a combo of light and dark bits. I'll remove the property number from my other post, if you want to get it down... to refer back to. Did you work out the kitchen? buzz Re: Please help with my facade :( 8Sep 25, 2009 11:04 pm Hmmm sounds good. Do you generally have your garage door the same colour as your gutters?? have I sorted out my kitchen?? Teehee your funny lol Nope, still scratching my head over it. I think I have narrowed it down to a couple. I need to wait for my app. on Monday so I can clarify what type of laminate I can get. They included a diamond gloss catalogue in the pack, but on the contract all it says is " laminate bench top with post formed edge (post formed edge refers to 20mm or 10 mm radius to both upper and lower edge of bench top" So not sure if I'm allowed the diamond gloss, is it square edge etc.... have no clue Deposits paid 29/4/09 Land settlement 12/08/09 Build contract signed 24/08/09 Colours done 28/09/09 BLOG-http://www.eljaysbuild.blogspot.com/ Re: Please help with my facade :( 9Sep 25, 2009 11:20 pm Garage door same as gutters!@##$$% Hope not, I mean you could.... I'm not. I'm having garage same as fascia and windows same as gutter. Could be quite a few ways I guess. Some match garage to frontdoor, others like the garage to blend in, others like it to stand out. Some match the gutter and fascia, others pick different ones for these... so many ways, it's confusing buzz Not sure about the diamond gloss bench, there was a post not long ago (i think in the last day) about laminate edges... I think they were talking about diamond gloss... gee that was helpful buzz Re: Please help with my facade :( 10Sep 25, 2009 11:23 pm lmao sounds like my head is not the only one hurting lol Is that why your nick is Buzz?? cause your head is buzzing?? lol I'll go on the hunt tomorrow for that thread, thanks. Am off tomorrow looking at the Austral bricks, looking forward to it. We are building with a colourbond roof and we have gone with the Woodlen grey colour, also have chosen our spouting/guttering and window frames the same colour, and using the Dune colour for facia and downpipes. We also have cladding on our façade and that’s going to be a Dune colour as well. With the Nougat brick it’s a very neutral colour so it works well with most colours out there. Just comes down to personal preference. Good Luck with your colour appointment, would love to hear back from you with what colours you went with. Saw some houses today with Nougat and I did like it. Doesn't seem to be a silvery as I thought it would be. Buzz> yeah I like it. Although I would have like it to have a bit more silver in it Got myself a sample brick and have named him trevor lmao I also liked the mushroom, but I think more will go with colour. It also goes with the tiles that I picked too, which you might see from the family room door. How exciting, I can't wait for Monday.
