Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Sep 25, 2009 6:02 pm So after a very elongated five day argument with our builder, unfortunately we cannot prove that our Site Supervisor agreed to change our benchtop back in July, so now we have two options, either stay with the black benchtop (and neutral colour schemes) or change it to something that is going to match. After spending so much money on this house, I just want things to match, so I have decided to spend the $1600 and decide on a new Laminex Diamondgloss benchtop. I really need some advice as to what colour we should pick for our benchtop, after this massive stuff around I really just want to be happy with the selection. Our wall colour is Beige Royal quarter, our kitchen cupboard doors are Polar White and our tile colour is Park Avenue Bianco (see link) http://www.imexinter.com/images/porcela ... Bianco.jpg. I was personally thinking Tunisian Stone, Catalana Marble or Jerusalem Stone? Michelle, or anyone else, can you please help me out with my decision! Thanks all Re: Which Laminex Diamondgloss benchtop?? 2Sep 25, 2009 7:32 pm All the colours you have chosen are nice however I like a little bit more oomph. I like Persian Stone. or even some of the darker ones. Have you ordered some large samples or seen the benchtops on display? Building in Bella Vista Waters Sydney. I really dont want a very dark benchtop, have no time to source samples or look at displays as I am busy this weekend and I have to tell them the colour on Monday! Re: Which Laminex Diamondgloss benchtop?? 9Sep 27, 2009 12:19 pm Hi Aly88, I can't help you with cost, as our builder included diamond gloss in our price but I can help you with colours. http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p371/brojas7906/94b0e634.jpg Photo's not the best but I will try and get some more soon. Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Which Laminex Diamondgloss benchtop?? 11Sep 27, 2009 5:37 pm Hey all Just to clarify, the whole benchtop needs to be replaced. Reason for this is, in our initial colour selection we chose Laminex Diamondgloss in Vulcan Stone. We were then told we could change our colour selection at any time, so in July we changed the benchtop colour to Faberge Marble (Diamondgloss). We went to our house a week ago and found that the Vulcan Stone colour had been installed. We called our SS and said, you guys have made a mistake and installed the wrong colour. He said, no we never agreed to change your benchtop colour, no variation was sent out to indicate this so irrespective of him verbally agreeing to the change, as there was no variation there was no change. Hence the argument and why we now have to pay $1600 to have a brand new Laminex Diamondgloss benchtop installed. I have been to the house a few times this weekend and am really feeling that Jerusalem stone is the best colour, but most of my family/friends are saying keep the Vulcan Stone colour and dont waste the $1600 to have it replaced, but really just think that the Vulcan Stone really doesnt match the colour scheme and so am absolutely adamant I want it changed. Re: Which Laminex Diamondgloss benchtop?? 12Sep 27, 2009 5:46 pm Aly88…here’s a tip….don’t ask everyone else, that’s where is really gets confusing, everyone has a different opinion. IF…you feel right with in your choice, then do it, you are the one living with the final selection. Do you by any chance have a pic of the vulcan stone that you currently have though? Im tossing up between that and 'starlight' in diamond gloss for my kitchen at the moment and possibly roman marble for my bathrooms so am looking for some pics of them in action! Vanessa Re: Which Laminex Diamondgloss benchtop?? 14Sep 29, 2009 10:10 pm Hi Ali Whats happened with the bench top? What a nightmare for you. I have changed my mind a few times. This morning had to cancel my appointment with my cabinet maker as I was supposed to have my final choices and of course this morning changed my mind completely. I am now looking at the Stipple Seal also. I was originally going with White Valenicia but did a back flip on my decision this morning and now deciding between Stipple Seal, Lunar Stone and Tunisian Stone. Looking at the three of them now sitting on my sample white cupboard - At this stage leaning towards the Stipple Seal. I think its lovely. Just viewed a pic of the same colour in cabinets. Almsost made me rethink my whole kitchen - but I think i like the white cupboards and go the Stipple Seal bench top. I agree when you are spending that much money on the whole package it would be a shame not to have the colour you want. You will see it every day after all. If you want to see a pic of the Stipple Seal (if you final decision not yet made) It is on the thread - Show me your Diamondgloss Benchtop (something like that) in the kitchen corner forum. Hope it is going well for you. Kez. Re: Which Laminex Diamondgloss benchtop?? 15Sep 29, 2009 10:21 pm Ali just realised I read your colour choice wrong for some reason I thought you said Stipple Seal. What ever your choice - go for it. Once you know you are getting the clour you want you will feel better. I just decided mine and now putting the other samples away! I am not thinking about it any more. I'm over the sample book! Re: Which Laminex Diamondgloss benchtop?? 16Sep 30, 2009 12:00 am hey aly - i know this is a completely different option but is it worth shopping around for caesarstone or something and having a new benchtop installed after handover? i honestly don't know how much this could cost, but if you are going to have to pay for the benchtop all over again is it worth exploring some other benchtops options - and if you shop around you may be able to pick up a bargain... 2014 - Prepping to build the Soho 4 with Plantation homes, industrial style 2009 - Built the Brampton with Coral Homes viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15399&start=280 Hi Courtney The mitred edges are glued up with epoxy so those little holes and gaps are areas that weren't filled correctly.
