What colour shutters?? Now with another question...

Hi Guys,

I am finally back on the bandwagon!

We are in the process of ordering some DIY timber plantation shutters. We are getting them for our bedroom, ensuite, bathroom and toilet. My only question is: what colour????

So opinions are needed, would you stain the cedar or paint them white?

I have attached two pictures, one of the bedroom and one of the bathroom.

would it look silly having two different colours throughout the house

also the shutters in the bedroom will be seen at the front of the house

My husabnd is sick of the deliberating so I need your help!!!

I have just ordered shutters, and they can either recess the shutter into your arctirave (which can be hard if the window is not straight or look silly if you have a thin edge) or they can add another frame. This is what I chose so on the basis of that I would go with white like your window frame. I think from the outside both colours would look nice.

I think white will look good too. Now i need to convince my husband as he thinks that the cedar will be nice stained.

Or maybe i can simply paint them white myself when he is not home :lol:

Centre rod rotation or clearview(invisible clear rod on the side)????

we are getting shutters too, we are going with clearview - I don't like the rod down the centre... but it's personal taste I spose!

we have a tri-colour boy - just the best friend, sorry about your mate, I'm sure she had a great life!!! (like mine, sleeping on our bed all day (and nite) and just hovering around our ankles at dinner time!) priceless

We have shutters in our bedrooms at the front of the house only. We had ours painted in the same colour as the walls (kind of grey/white which is similar to the exterior colour) and were built in a frame because of our louvres, and our window frames were silver and we went with clearview ::wornout::

I agree with white shutters and the clearview which I think are a more modern look.

Btw I LOVE LOVE LOVE your bathroom choices - really stunning!! Can I ask what tiles you have used for your shower oppisette the bath - I love the bath tiles! Any more pics of your bathroom from different angles?

i don't remember the name but they were from Fashion Tiles in Southbank, Melb.

took us ages to choose andinitially they said they couldn't get them but I made my builder wait for them to be delivered, set us back 4 weeks :lol:
