Even closer http://img141.imageshack.us/i/p9060015.jpg/ The tile scheme in the ENS: http://img6.imageshack.us/i/p9060016a.jpg/ I would REALLY appreciate if somebody could assist me as I have a gut feeling I might be picking tiles and paint colour that is too pink and can't stop thinking I'll have to rip them out and waste money on retiling and repainting after handover! All I know is I want neutral colours, not dark. The ensuite is the exception as they will be brown. Are there are other tiles that are cream/white that you could suggest? Especially on paint colour, could China Doll be too pink? All the searches I've done in Google show older style houses with the China Doll color! ARGH! Thanks for taking the to read this and also thank you in advance for offering any tips! Wish me luck! Regards, Edin. :--: EDIT :--: Just in case it would help with the overall colour scheme choices, I'll include the Kitchen, Bathroom, ENS and Laundry colours as they will all be uniform. As for the paint (Taubmans right?). We also had to pick from this range... I was going to go China Doll, doesn't look at all pinkish to me. I ended up changing to "Altair" because I was after a stronger colour than China Doll. buzz Re: Colour advice, please help! 3Sep 14, 2009 10:06 pm buzz Hi Edin, those tiles do look a bit pink to me... could be my monitor? Two different companies for the same 'China Doll' colour. hehehe, no idea why. Being two different companies I hope the colours will be close to each other! Re: Colour advice, please help! 4Sep 14, 2009 10:14 pm Hmmmm.... I haven't seen the dulux one.... maybe someone else can help on that, but the Taubmans China Doll is def not pink. Are you gettting them to match the colours?, or is there actually a colour called China Doll in each range? If they each have their own China Doll, then they are quite possibly completely different colours. Better check that. It's not easy Edin.... goodluck, you'll get there! buzz Re: Colour advice, please help! 5Sep 15, 2009 6:45 am Dulux china doll....1/4 http://www.dulux.com.au/umbraco/coloura ... 5A5SiaCQe& Dulux china doll... full. http://www.dulux.com.au/umbraco/coloura ... It certainly has that touch of pink to it doesn't it? Given my tile, carpet choice, what neutral white/cream colour would work for my wall and ceiling colours? Regards, Edin. Re: Colour advice, please help! 7Sep 15, 2009 8:25 am When we built our current house we used Taubmans China Beige (walls), China Beige Gloss (doors, window surrounds) and China White (ceiling). There is nothing beige or pink about the china beige. It is a very nice cream. I have an off-white leather lounge suite that matches beautifully with it. I have been more than satisfied with it. Regards, Edin. Re: Colour advice, please help! 9Sep 15, 2009 2:09 pm Edin Hi guys, Architraves, skirting board and Doors = Hogs Bristle Full Walls = Hogs Bristle Half Ceiling = Hogs Bristle Quarter Regards, Edin. If you use the darker of the hog bristles for the doors etc, what happens if you want to paint your walls a colour that doesn't match the with them. We had this problem in our 2nd house. All walls, ceilings, doors etc were same beige colour (and I mean beige.) When we painted the walls we left all the gloss paint (doors etc) and it really didn't look good. We had to paint the ceiling again to a white. At least it was ok then. That's why this house was painted the cream as the company only painted walls, doors etc the same colour but used satin or gloss paints. Ceiling was white though. If we wanted to paint the walls all we have to do is make sure it works with the cream of the doors etc. It isn't an over powerful cream. So just be wary of that decision. The Dulux version being more pink and the Taubmans being more white! ARGH! I noticed in the Taubmans brochure they had a combination of Frosted Ice (with a hint of darker grey) and China Doll (more of a white with a hint of grey) and it looked nice together. Kaytee, you've got me thinking about repainting later on (say in 5-10 years) and how you mentioned the colours of the doors may be affected if you go with the same uniform colour. In that case maybe keep the doors standard white and just paint the walls in say China Doll or Hog Bristle, skirtings+architraves in a full gloss and ceilings maybe white or a touch shade lower than the wall colour? So I was thinking maybe the following combo: Architraves & Skirting Board = Frosted Ice Full Doors = White or China Doll Quarter Walls = China Doll Half Ceiling = China Doll Quarter What do you guys think? I've got the same paint catalogue, but in that picture I can't see where they have used each colour Did you want darker architraves and skirting boards? or lighter than the walls? or similar? People do lots of different things.... Can you put those Taubmans colours in here? might help others offer some help.... It's a wonder I even make it through the day buzz Yeah they're nice colours buzz, I assumed the skirtings and architraves in the catalogue were Frosted Ice with China Doll being the wall colour, hmmm. It does appear also that the door colour in the catalogue is white or is the same colour as the wall so mainly the skirtings and architraves stand out. I do prefer the skirtings and architraves to be more darker than the walls. Unfortunately I've had no luck finding the colours to link to this thread . Dulux seems more easily found than Taubmans. I'm not technologically challenged but cannot find the pic to show it to everyone! Perhaps Michelle may have more luck finding the colours for us. Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Colour advice, please help! 19Sep 29, 2009 10:33 am I have decided on Taubmans China Doll for both walls, skirtings and architraves and doors with White for ceiling colour. I am at last happy with my colour selection after some initial confusion between Taubmans and Dulux for the same colour name but different colours! I don't envy colour experts, must be a nightmare trying to match everything up with tiles, flooring, etc, etc. Thanks guys for all your help. Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7079 Thank you @.
