We've got our colour appointment with M in 2 weeks time, and so we're trying to pin down our colour choices so we don't spend 3 days at the appointment! We've kind of got our interior choices sorted (see end of this post for pics) but our exterior choices need some fine tuning.
The main problem is with what bricks to use? I've put this question elsewhere but I figure there are lots of colour gurus in here who will be exceptionally helpful - we hope! Our direction so far in exterior choices is is no creams, no reds, no flat light bricks. The brick needs a bit of character (variation in colour), and will most likely have a flush white or off-white mortar. Roof will be either colorbond or glazed terracotta in a darker shade, depending on what matches. Here I've mocked up three basic varieties in this graphic below:

The first one (left) uses a darkish brown brick. Would probably be something like Austral Homestead Tan, Chocolate or Hawthorn. Upgrade price would be less than $5000, we think.
The middle one uses a slightly lighter brown brick - but it must have some darker bricks in the mix for character - something like Austral Newport would be the one. Again, upgrade price under $5000.
The final one on the right, I've tried to map a fancy semi glazed brick - Austral Zinc. Horrendously expensive for the whole house (we're had an indication of $30,000+!), but depending on our quote, we might use it to the facade only. An alternative might be to try a blue-ish brick like Vic Blue, Blue Rain etc. We've seen many pics of these bricks used on single-storey homes which look great, but our concern it might be a bit too much on a double storey house. Upgrade price on a blueish brick, not glazed, around $8000.
Regardless of the brick, we'd be using a lighter colour for the first floor cladding, and most likely a light garage door too. Unsure on render to the balcony so far. Guttering, fascias, downpipes etc we can worry about once the brick is decided on!
As for interior colours, we saw the M Soho last week in Caroline Springs and it's pretty much what we like! We're not keen on browns, creams, tans, fake wood etc and would like to stick to neutrals. Here's our customised floorplan:

Kitchen may be similar to this:
- Gloss white lower cupboards eg Laminex Polar White Diamondgloss. Rolled edges or ABS edging.
- 40mm whitish ceasarstone benchtop, most likely Osprey. Currently with no waterfall, but may add it depending on price.
- Grey overhead cupboards eg Laminex New Graphite. Rolled edges or ABS edging.
- Concealed european style handles for lower cupboards. Upper cupboards to extend down, so no handles needed (if our builder can do this!)
- Dark timber floors

Bathrooms may be similar to this:
- Dark grey (or slate style!) square or rectangular floor tiles, eg Luxe Anthracite 400x400 or 450x450
- Large rectangular white wall tiles laid horizontal, eg 600x300 gloss white
- Some slightly different tile around the bath - undecided!
- White cupboards, eg Laminex Polar White
- Feature wall tile in the ensuite shower niche, continuing around the shower wall. Not sure what to use here!
- Grey benchtop. Ensuite and powder room have ceasarstone (either in grey or whitish like Osprey) and bathroom a laminate top.
With the powder room, we'd like it to be a bit more special - eg some kind of fancy floor tile. It'll also have a raised round sink, with some kind of wall tile surround. We're off to beaumont this afternoon to pick up some samples, and hopefully with return with some more ideas and photos! If anyone can suggest a floor tile that might suit our style, please mention it here!
Any comments or help much appreciated! Our colour appointment is Sept 12, so only 2 weeks away now! We'll be doing a drive around tomorrow to try to see bricks in real life, and go crazy finalising interior colours too. Some more picture links would help too, if anyone has good examples to share.
