Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Aug 08, 2009 7:50 pm First time poster,Ive just discovered this forum when I googled a couple of the paint name samples I have been looking at. We're in the middle of renovating our kitchen and living room, and are up to the point of choosing our wall colours (the painting is actually an afterthought, we were just going to do the kitchen fitout initially, but, as i'm sure you're aware, once you start, the more you find). The walls are currently a darkish salmon colour (yuck), with a brownish grey skirting, so will probably need numerous coats to conceal it. We have picked pretty much all our other colours, as below: Benchtops - CeasarStone in 'Urban' Cupboards - Melamine 'Classic White' Stainless steel appliances White tile splashback,( with clear/grey/speckled glass tile feature stripes) Panel Slide Blinds - Palm Beach 'Stone' (these will the whole of one wall, and part of another in the living room, so fairly prominent). Kitchen has dark brown polished wooden floors, staying as is Living room has a cream carpets, which the budget doesn't stretch to replacing, as it's still in good condition. Most of our furniture is a medium brown wood, with dark blue leather couches. Now on to the paint colour... I'm more a fan of 'white' looking whites, as opposed to yellow/cream colours, but I don't want it to feel too stark either. I'm after a colour that will look good with the brownish/greyish tones in the bits and pieces we already have. Ceiling will probably just be standard ceiling white. The colour samples I've got in front of me that I'm tossing up between are Lexicon (afraid this one might be to stark/hospital-like), and Whisper White (concerned it might come up a bit creamy). Which of those would best suit my requirements, or can you think of something else to throw into the mix and confuse me even more? Would love some quick feedback, we have to pick the colour in the next day or so! (Lesson learnt on leaving it to the last minute 'cause of 'how hard can it be to pick a white?').
