Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Aug 04, 2009 10:24 pm Hi everyone, We are building our first house, and like most ppl, are having troubles picking exterior render colours. We have actually picked our colours already, but i am having major second thoughts about our render colour. We ran out of time, and after 6 samples, we chose the best out of those- although none of these was exactly what we wanted. Our roof will be colourbond ironstone, and we wanted a neutral colour for the walls- but nothing that is too yellow, pink or green! The colour we have chosen already (that i'm thinking of changing!) is called SheepSkin- it is a Bristol colour, which if it looked like its sample picture, would be fine. But it dries with a tinge of green- which i am not sure will look good with the blue in our roof. I have been recommended Hog's Bristle as a colour and noticed it is quite a popular colour on this site. Does anyone have any opinions on Ironstone and Hog's Bristle. Does anyone have any pics of what it looks like as an exterior colour? Thanks for any advice Re: Ironstone and Hogs Bristle?? 4Aug 06, 2009 5:23 pm Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Ironstone and Hogs Bristle?? 5Aug 06, 2009 6:40 pm Thanks Michelle, When you look at the two colours like that they look ok. My ONLY worry is that it will have a pink tinge to it- we really want a beige tinge if anything. It's colour chart sample doesn't look like it does but after 6 samples of other colours i know how different the actual paint colours can turn out! Holly Re: Ironstone and Hogs Bristle?? 6Aug 06, 2009 6:46 pm Holly…the pink in Hog is so minute you will not see it! Especially when put with the Ironstone. Always try to look at the big picture…..driveway, landscaping, never focus in on one colour or selection, this will pull you unstuck. Your house looks great. It's good to see the colour on an actual house and not a small colour sample. It looks like you're nearly ready to move in- you must be so excited!
