I am currently renovating my 2br apartment in North Sydney - all my first apartment, renos, decorating,etc.... Main colours throughout Ceiling /Cornice - flat white though should I repaint with a low sheen white??? Walls - 2 Bedrooms soon to be Dulux Hog Bristle 1/2 All other walls in Dulux Berkshire White though the dining room has a feature wall in Dulux Ranch Mink but I might be changing this colour as well Skirting / Architrave - none Windows / Reveals / Frames - bronze metallic Doors - which colour? its currently a yellowed white, all door jambs are metal as well does this affect types of paint that can be used? Window Treatments - White Eco Shutter in bedrooms, roller blinds in living and kitchen that blends with Berkshire WHite so its quite a seamless look Flooring - carpet but would love to redo the living area in spotted gum floorboards as I said before any advice to set me in the right direction would be great! thanks! Re: Door colours to tie these wall colours together 2Jul 30, 2009 7:31 pm Main colours throughout Ceiling /Cornice – White semi gloss Walls - 2 Bedrooms soon to be Dulux Hog Bristle ½ - Semi gloss All other walls in Dulux Berkshire White though the dining room has a feature wall in Dulux Ranch Mink but I might be changing this colour as well – To what ? Skirting / Architrave – none – Lucky you! Cement render????? Windows / Reveals / Frames - bronze metallic – Cement render? Doors - which colour? It’s currently a yellowed white, all door jambs are metal as well does this affect types of paint that can be used? – NO, metal is great to paint over! Colour – White. Window Treatments - White Eco Shutter in bedrooms, roller blinds in living and kitchen that blends with Berkshire White so it’s quite a seamless look I have chosen the semi gloss for your ceiling for 2 reason. 1) It bounces light, and is better for cleaning 2) I do it all the time, and you can hardly tell its there! Small spaces need ample light, so the more you can bounce around a room the better. Its the feature wall that I would like to change - all other walls will remain Berkshire White (sorry I realise that I didn't type this out correctly in my first post) the feature wall in the dining room (the Ranch Mink) is something that I was quite opposed to when I first moved in as it appears as a purple (in daylight) and more of a brown at night. I would like to change it but really am not sure of what would be a suitable colour. would it be easier to post a picture of the area? 920 was enough to get the furniture in. We live in a pretty safe area and it’s great to see people walking to the front door. We’re not too fussed about people… 4 1529 |
