Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Jul 16, 2009 4:18 pm I need a little help with Solver Brickwash. It's what we specificed with the builder for our front feature wall and front door - the first painted matt over render and the second gloss. The colours look totally different! Well, I suppose that's to be expected, but if I get some of the same colour for a matt interior wall, what is it really going to look like? Here is what the outside looks like: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And the inside of the front door. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The horizontal sample is from a dulux colour matched sample pot and looks similar to the outside feature. The vertical is a sample of glass splashback in a colour we like. The real question is, which of these is an internal wall paint going to look like, and is it going to go with both the front door and splashback? Re: Paint colour - exterior vs gloss vs interior 2Jul 16, 2009 5:12 pm Wow…I think the outside of your home looks great! Well done! They look different because one is in a mat and one is gloss, one’s on timber, and a smooth finish and the other on the render is a rough finish straight away that will be a difference in colour. But it looks really good. As for the internal feature wall…NEVER use a matt finish, its to hard to clean! You should always do a semi gloss – satin finish on the internal walls, easier to keep clean, and dark colours show really badly when they have been wiped over with a damp cloth. I know, I had the red in my other place. Even with a semi gloss, it shows, matt will be shocking. Out of the colours you have in photo 2 I would use the door colour as your feature wall, its blends better with the glass splashback. I will take your advice re. satin finish and hopefully it will look more like the door than the feature wall! And I sort of read into your post that they all go together OK anyway so I will go ahead with the Brickwash for inside Hi, planning on using the attached stone pieces in my bathroom. I want to remove stains and gloss seal. Can I get some advice on best way to remove stains and best… 0 6711 This link might answer your question. I had the same issue and it turned out to be the roller. https://www.sherwin-williams.com/painti ... %20coating. 4 18164 Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7169 |
