Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Jul 16, 2009 2:15 pm Hello, I need suggestions for the kitchen scheme I have in mind for our house. My kitchen benchtop is "C" shaped and it will be black granite. Cupboards will be "Cherry Red" laminate to give it a woody, warm feel. What tiles will go on the walls ie. adjacent to gas cooktop and sink? The guys at tile shop told me that "White" plain tiles would look fine. Its a bit difficult to imagine it. Does anyone have any ideas to make it look more better or should I stick with white plain tiles only. Please let me know your suggestions. Thanks a lot, ET. Re: Suggestions needed reg. tiles. 2Jul 16, 2009 2:30 pm That sounds really nice. I think personally with all the *zing* going on I would go with a plain tile, in maybe a lightish grey? I know white seems the obvious choice but I think something to tone it down a bit would be nicer, keep it classy. www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: Suggestions needed reg. tiles. 3Jul 16, 2009 3:23 pm Thanks Themax for replying back. I was also thinking of Ivory white colour...a friend of mine suggested it. Wondering now if there is actually Ivory white color available in tiles ?? Cheers, ET. Re: Suggestions needed reg. tiles. 4Jul 16, 2009 3:35 pm I agree with Themax I think a greyish colour tile would look really classy I think white might make it feel a bit cold - Just my opinion though Building 'The Kingston' (with 'Boston' elevation) through Blueprint Homes in Hocking, Perth **PCI complete 06.02.10** My Thread - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=17607 Re: Suggestions needed reg. tiles. 5Jul 16, 2009 3:39 pm I'd suggest a glass tile. Beaumonts has these hand made clear glass tiles that have a slight green tinge to them that I think would look good. They have a slight texture to them that I think would fit in well. You have to see them in real life, they look sort of dodge on the Beaumonts web site. http://shopping.tile.com.au/TilesBathroomware/95533/MosaicGlassVetroWhiteGloss(99x99)200x200.aspx http://shopping.tile.com.au/TilesBathroomware/95540/MosGlassVetroFineSilverGloss(99x99)200x200.aspx You can see the depth to the glass tiles better in this sample http://shopping.tile.com.au/TilesBathroomware/97373/GlassChromaSuperWhite98x98.aspx Re: Suggestions needed reg. tiles. 6Jul 16, 2009 3:42 pm Ooo the silver ones of those would look nice!! ..Pricey, but nice Building 'The Kingston' (with 'Boston' elevation) through Blueprint Homes in Hocking, Perth **PCI complete 06.02.10** My Thread - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=17607 Re: Suggestions needed reg. tiles. 7Jul 16, 2009 4:58 pm Thanks NatB and Netadelle for your suggestions. Netadelle - Those tiles are superb....only thing is need to see the budget as well. Maybe I'll go to the tile shop again and discover something on the similar lines. Thanks again ET.
