Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Jul 07, 2009 4:41 pm Hi everyone, Our house is painted predominantly with dulux "stowe white". The previous owner left a 10 litre can of it (a 3rd full) and im currently in the process of re-painting a few rooms which have got dirty walls, chunks taken out of wall from kids etc etc. I'm only doing a single coat as its same colour and its just to clean it up, but im nearly out of paint and wanting to go buy some more. On the can it says "Stowe White 200%" - does anyone know what the 200% refers to? I'm guessing it may be twice as dark or something??? Also wondering how accurate each reproduction of the colour is - i.e will i be able to tell a slight difference between the old and new cans?? .. I am HOPING it can be close to identical so i don't have to get too fussy with the new coat (if its slightly different colour i will have to take more care iykwim??) thanks in advance =) Re: More paint of same colour - Advice please? 2Jul 07, 2009 4:49 pm Is there not a colour code or mix code on the can anywhere? If the paint is quite old it may have discoloured a bit ( in the tin) , so make sure you tell them if the paint you have is older so they can test. You will have to go in on a weekday or early saturday morning, as they predominantly deal with trade/painters, and so are not open long on weekends. He also said you should just be able to go in and get more, as long as the tin you just finished was well sealed prior to you using it. Hope that helps ! oh and I wasn't saying that dulux trade centres don't deal with non-trade people, only that their opening hours are generally catering to trade not retail hours- you know - no late night shopping hours etc My Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=29109 Site Start: 5th January 2010 Base stage completed: 24th January 2010 Re: More paint of same colour - Advice please? 8Jul 08, 2009 11:35 pm thanks heaps coopsmummy!!! I didnt think there was a dulux trade place where i live but on my way to bunnings this arvo I happened to see one!! So yes went in and spoke to them and they told me everything you've just relayed from your hubby. So pleased, i came home and checked the colour with the old tin and its spot on! I can understand the popular colour comment. Its such a nice colour - even if we do have it twice as dark. Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7143 Versaloc is a mortarless besser block system that still needs a properly engineered footing. If you just do a 400x200 footing it will fail in time.
