Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Jul 04, 2009 11:18 am Hi guys, let me start by saying what a wonderful forum!! Now can I get all your opinions and suggestions!! We are building a small retreat/weekender on 5 acres and so far we have chosen Dune for the roof, surfmist in miniorb, and cladding to be painted in Blind date for the remainder of the house. We have white windows and louvers with timber doors. (Painting of the cladding hasnt started yet) - I really want to paint the door at the back (which is the front door...) red, would this look silly if not what reds should i be looking for?? Internal - We have chosen essa stone platnium as benchtop in kitchen with Bark laminex cabinetry, we have polished concrete floors in pearl and bathroom tiles are walls offwhite and floors darkish stone coloured with pearl bisque cabinetry and I want to paint one colour through out. Bearing in mind I would like to have mostly grey, offwhite and light wood furniture what colour would you recommend, I have been looking at hogs bristle... Many thanks guys I look forward to hearing your suggestions!! Re: Hi im new - need some help!! 2Jul 04, 2009 11:58 am I like the sound of red, I would be looking for a red that is more leaning toward burgandy. I wouldn't do the exterior in a white white, (if you know what I mean?) Maybe more an off white?? OR seeing you like grey, an grey/green colour, I have seen this in a dulux palet, but don't know the name. Just a thought, you house might blend nicely with the surrounding area The house looks great by the way, how exciting! Do you mean the louvers will be in a wood stain? I am not up with the names of paint colours, I need to see them, sorry If you want mostley grey, why not go a soft grey all the way through? Not a stark grey. What a great location! I have cladding to be painted and your colours are very near to what I would like. Will check them out. Just noticed you are choosing 'pearl bisque' for your bathroom cabinetry and am attaching a photo of my kitchen cupboards which are the same for you to see. In photo it looks to have a pinkish sheen, but think it's just the camera! I love the colour! Almost finished! Love your kitchen stressed out, thanks so much for posting a photo always nice to see it "in real life"!! Will keep my eye out for burgandy coloured paint for the front door I think that too will look great. Louvers are all in white as are the patios, carport, portico etc. Ok so im going with blind date for the cladding and its starting tomorrow so when complete i will post some piccs. Thanks again guys, really appreciate it! Hi VK, Think it's worth investing time in an Owner Builder course to equip you with basic knowledge on Australian Building Industry and its regulations.
