Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Jun 17, 2009 7:55 pm Hi All I sat down with the interiors team this week and did a colour selection for the whole house. I am building with plantation homes in QLD. Its a single storey home. I'm a little nervous about the external colours - a medium colour roof (walnut) with dark grey (monument) gutter/fascia/garage door and medium colour (paperbark colour - slightly lighter than roof). Would love to get your thoughts on the selection. Thanks! Just noticed that you have chosen the same wall colour as us as well! Unfortunately we have just notice a problem with Plantation/Henley when they go to mix this paint. Aria Ivory P195 N1 is a Bristol colour and Henley use Taubmans paint to mix the colour together. However they sometimes dont always turn out the same as we have just had our whole house painted with a Taubmans "Araia Ivory" version paint and it looks quite different. It looks very yellow based and gives a "yellow" feel to a room instead of a proper ivory white colour which is what the sample looks like. It is extremely frustrating, as now the cupboards and tiles we have chosen dont really match as the whole house feels yellow We will obviously speak to our SS this week but just thought I would give you a heads up to hopefully avoid the same mistake! We have a large colour sample of "Aria Ivory" and what it is meant to look like and its just not the same. Even the painter was onsite still and agreed with us and said it looks like a different colour completely. Its just going to be a battle now to convince the builder that Aria Ivory when mixed in a Taubmans paint - ISN'T the same unfortunately. We also went down to Bunnings and had Aria Ivory mixed in the Taubmans paint range and it looks the same as what the house is. Although we will try and get to a Bristol Trade Centre this week just to make sure that the same colour in Bristol really does look like the sample and not like the Taubmans version. Hope this helps!
