Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Jun 06, 2009 11:00 pm I am in a fix and confused (as I posted in another thread me and my partner are probably the most non creative creatures to walk this planet) We had an opportunity and changed our colour combination a bit. Here are the new ones Kitchens Splash Back - Beige (was black before) Bench Top - Granite Steel Grey Cupboard Doors - Dulux Bone White (Matt) Cabinets - White Kickboard - Dulux Bone White Hardware / Taps - Chrome Handles - Chrome Lighting - Downlights We still cannot decide what colur/type of tiles/flooring we want in the kitchen. We looked at "blackbutt pre finished" - could not garee, then got a couple of samples of Glazed Porcelain tiles (creamish shades) again could not agree. In a fix now and looking for some massive massive help from you all. We had a similar problem Mohit .. we got a second chance to make changes and ended up torturing ourselves and each other for a bit longer . Floor coverings are not easy .. especially if you have already selected all your kitchen cupboards and benchtop etc. Its easier doing it all at the same time ... or flooring first and rest to follow. If your slab is down & walls up, why don't you take your selections onto site and try them in the space. That's what we ended up doing and found it much easier. If not, it sounds like your colour scheme is grey, white and beige so how about vitrified concrete tiles (bone or white colour) or a natural matte porcelain tile in grey tones??? What are the rest of your floors ... if it is tiles or wood why don't you carry it through the whole house?? Re: Kitcen Colour Combo (From other thread, as asked Michelle) 4Jun 08, 2009 6:58 pm I don’t know what colour your walls are going to be. So I’m winging it here. I would look at a light grey 600 x 600 tile. This will complement your Granite Steel Grey bench tops. Also with all that white/light in your cabinetry the bench top and light grey tiles will be the feature of the room. We tried with taking our selections onsite and still could not decide what we want. The entire ground floor is Blackbutt timber (engineered) and kitchen is yet to be decided. We looked at grey/ivory tiles on the weekend and they did look good. Timber floors in kitchen I am not sure whether it is sustainable with that much water usage there. As mentioned above we did look at tiles of similar colour and are in a fix whether to go for Tiles or continue with Blackbutt Timber.
