Modern……country? We don't own any furniture currently. We are getting married in a few weeks and still living with parents. We are still to buy all the furniture, so we can work with anything. Re: Please help with furniture in the living room 8Jun 02, 2009 12:44 pm bluesteel If you are keeping all the wood and want a contemporary look ......I would probably go whites and solid colours - white or glass table white chairs - solid coloured couch eg red or a nice blue with again white sides/coffee table and colourful accessories = good thing about this sort of furniture you can get it at the less expensive end and the high end. I would keep away from wood and anything yellow. Just my opinion - post us some pics of finished product. Good luck Thanks i'll consider your advice. I do think white can be incorporated nicely. Re: Please help with furniture in the living room 9Jun 02, 2009 1:55 pm I agree with blue steel Whites are the way to go!! I think white leather couches would look very nice. definately keep it modern and light and fresh. Whites and light green accents would look pretty. As suggested, go for a light fresh colour for furniture and stay away from more wood. And throw a couple of light coloured plain rugs on the floor to break it up a bit too. Re: Please help with furniture in the living room 13Jun 03, 2009 3:10 pm Chearsey I like the idea of the white lounges but are there any other colours that would go with all the wood? Solid colours would look fine - greens or reds, some blues - not too bright as the wood is very bright itself Re: Please help with furniture in the living room 14Jun 05, 2009 12:06 am So guys any more suggestions on the type of table? I was thinking of perhaps a solid wood table, with wooden chairs that have white seats. However for decoration the table has a white or other colour tablecloth, so you can't really see the wood fully. People can give suggestions but i think we have already made our mind up. i think we've decided to go with creamy white for the lounges and wooden dinner table & chairs with creamy white padding. we'll definitely post photos up one we've bought everything and have settled in Re: Please help with furniture in the living room 16Jun 14, 2009 10:34 pm bluesteel If you are keeping all the wood and want a contemporary look ......I would probably go whites and solid colours - white or glass table white chairs - solid coloured couch eg red or a nice blue with again white sides/coffee table and colourful accessories = good thing about this sort of furniture you can get it at the less expensive end and the high end.
