I've seen it in display homes, and really love it. BUT it costed $250 each , and its on order for a brand new one. What do you all think? Is it worth the $250? By the way, the store in the link is not where we bought it, just another stockist. I will call Globe West tomorrow to check how much they sell it for. AND, Suite Deals had only ONE ex-display Monaco bar stool, and we grabbed that one for only $70. Built the Atlantique 37 Mk2 with Carlisle Homes - WE'RE IN!! What is it made of (tough material?)? Do you have kids? Reason I ask is, I would be wary of spending $250 on a stool that my kids are going to very probably trash within a few years. We got ours for $60 each at Kmart. After only 5 months they are already showing signs of wear and tear, so I am glad we didn't spend too much money on them. Re: What do you think of my bar stool? 3May 30, 2009 9:08 pm Thanks for your opinion donuts. Its made of hardwood timber, I think. No young kids would be using it, so that wouldnt be an issue. But its $250, do you think that at least LOOKS that much, and is it worth it? I mean, I find it a bit wary to tell people its $250 each, makes me feel like they think I'm ******... But then again I reckon my $60 ones do too. But really, how many ppl that come over do you tell how much things cost? I would spend the extra money for the better quality of workmanship and better materials, not because of the look. You can get lots of cheap things that 'look' expensive. Just my opinion though! hope the new ones match the suite deals one "Your emotions are the slaves to your thoughts, and you are the slave to your emotions." — Elizabeth Gilbert Living in our new house. Re: What do you think of my bar stool? 5May 30, 2009 9:22 pm I don't see $250 value in it sorry, for that price I would want it to be gold rimmed I don't think it matters what it costs anyway, the main thing is that you like it and were prepared to spend that much because it is what you wanted. Re: What do you think of my bar stool? 6May 30, 2009 9:27 pm Thanks for your comments donuts and Hels. donuts, Im pretty sure its the same, because its under the same name? Hels, this is the doubt that was running through my mind, that it wasnt really worth it. But yeah, I do really like. And think of it this way; 70 for display one, 250 new, 250 new =570 = 190 each. So I like to think of it as being $190 each, at least slightly more reasonable.. LOL. Anyway found the same stool at a Sydney company; http://www.touchinteriors.com/popupcart ... height=500 Surprisingly, its for $325?? Built the Atlantique 37 Mk2 with Carlisle Homes - WE'RE IN!! If you are happy to buy them and like them then they certainly are worth it. Re: What do you think of my bar stool? 9May 31, 2009 10:25 am Thanks for the reply Flissfloss. I guess the chair is worth it if I believe it is.. Like I said, if I just think of it as being $190 each, I'll be fine.. Built the Atlantique 37 Mk2 with Carlisle Homes - WE'RE IN!! A question I would ask myself is what level of use will I get from them, are they just for show? to fill the space and look pretty? then no, I wouldn't spend $250. But if its a piece of furniture you are going to use every day, then I'd pay the $$. Custom build! Re: What do you think of my bar stool? 11May 31, 2009 4:35 pm Thanks for the advice Missy. The stools will be used for both actually - for show and for lots of use! Im happy with them now.. Im convinced its worth the $$. Built the Atlantique 37 Mk2 with Carlisle Homes - WE'RE IN!! In saying that right now I wouldn't buy them because I have two young boys but if you don't have kids then yes definitely go for it, they're very classy.
