Stressing about this decision!

Hi All,

I have done prestart (3 weeks back) and the only decision I don't absolutely love (I'm not sure how I feel about it really!) is the possible clash in the kitchen between the laminate flooring and the kitchen cabinets (underbench). Everyone says "oh, it's nice, it fits" but I'm having more and more doubts!
I love the kitchen selections, and I love the floor, and it would be $500 for a post-prestart variation, so it probably has to stay, but what can I do to make it a little less obvious that they don't really go together? Or am I just overanalysing things and it will look okay?

I've put all three colours together to see what you think side-by-side.

The Stipple Cocoa looks like the odd one out. Both the flooring and benchtop have an amber-ish tone to them, whereas Stipple Cocoa has a chocolatey tone. Which would be easiest to change?

I don’t have a problem with these colours together.

Timber flooring is the best, it goes with everything.
If you are really concerned, I would look at doing the cupboards an off white to cream, to match your top.

All of them are hard to change! Each would be at least $500 to change now.

The Amaretto Stone actually has a purplish tinge to it so it fits really well with the Stipple Cocoa (in my opinion anyway!
I love the benchtop and the flooring, but not so sure about the cabinets. What would you suggest? I haven't picked paint colours at all (doing it after handover) and the two small overhead cabinets are Laminex Pumice

I’d look at Laminex Parchment for your cupboards.
I like the top…it’s a nice colour and goes well with the flooring.

By sticking to a neutral cupboard you leave all the other selections to stand out.
Every colour scheme needs at least one of these colours.

I was kinda hoping the darker colour would hide any smudges a little easier when my little one (pictured in my avatar) puts his paws up on it! Not that I won't wipe it over when he does, but I'm always trying to pick stuff to hide potential marks! It's become an obsession. Do I need to get out of this habit?

Believe me, we're working on it! His name is "Midas". With the original Midas legend, everything he touched turned to gold. My little guy: everything he touches turns to shreds! He just has a little too much energy and acts like he needs doggy sedatives whenever he is not asleep!

We'll be going to more dog classes soon in the hope that we can work out a more mutually beneficial relationship!

I like the third combo. You can accessorise it any way you like. A dark coppery-colour splashback would look nice.

I'm having white gloss tiles for the splashback. Something very simple. Prestart was sprung on me with one week's notice (as opposed to many months wait for some people!) It happened too quickly and I didn't really have time to let everything sink in and reflect on it all unfortunately before I had to choose for real!

If I change both to Parchment:
$500 for one variation (maybe an extra $500 for the other, not sure??) and then also lose the $175 extra I paid for the 3rd colour initially (2 was standard). Would it look funny to have the parchment on the bottom and pumice on the top if it costs too much to change them both?
The lighter colours really do look better than the original don't they? Would it be too light with gloss white tiles, parchment and that benchtop? Or maybe change both upper and lower cabinets to pumice for a bit more colour? Jeez, this is hard!

What about a less pinky colour instead of the Pumice? I've tried with Peruvian Clay:

hi annie - i like the one with all parchment or the one with peruvian clay and parchment - and the white splashback will be fine, keep it simple and then accessorise with bright colours to create some interest - having parchment for the bottom will work well as the floorboards also provide some interest...
