I mentioned in a previous thread that I was going to have a go at re-upholstering my dining chairs. After 10 years, 2 children and a cat, they are in pretty bad shape, so much so they are not looking very blue anymore. No budget for new chairs though, and absolutely not taking them to the new house in current condition. Off to spotlight to find some nice material, had DS age 4 with me, so it went pear shaped. Found some cheap upholstery material, looked nice and brown in shop. Come home, it's looking grey. So decided will still use as temporary temporary fix until we move. So for the first time ever had a go an reupholstering dining chairs. Here's the first one. Pretty pleased with my effort, and my ability with the staple gun (first time ever), but need to work on those corners. Not really happy about the material but it gives me some breathing space to find something that works better and with other furniture we put in house.
I also think now seeing the material on the chair it's too light for the darker frame, so glad I didn't go out and buy an expensive light coloured material. I am now thinking about something with a black pattern on a brown material or even dark metallics . Any one else have any ideas or advice, would appreciate it.
First picture is actually the new material, bottom picture the old material.
So 1 down, 7 to go. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅
