I have semi gloss right through my new house. Ceilings and walls, love it. All wet areas need to be as water repellent as possible. Even with a really good ceiling fan, your paint work will eventually chip and peel if not done in semi or gloss. I have semi gloss in my bathroom on the ceiling the house is nearly 30 years old……no plaster defects. Unlike homes of today! Which is why the builder will steer you clear of the semi to gloss, they don’t want you seeing the shotty plaster work. Just a secret between you and me I have always wondered why builders waste there money and install those ugly hats around their lilghts. Let just say the ceiling will look much better this way.
