Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 May 10, 2009 2:57 pm Hello, newby here I Have just purchased a old federation (1930) qlder home, I had it brought up from Bundaberg and is now in 12 acres in the Whitsundays, there are not many old qld'er home here and materials and advice are as scarce as hens teeth. At this momnet we are scraping out the VJ boards, sanding and no more gapping to get it ready for painting (someone has watched one of the older "home shows" and all the rooms are bright pinks, orange, green and blues - even the ceilings!!!) What I need now is to find some good photos or book of old traditional colour schemes for the house, it has high ceolings, pitcure railing, fret work arches over the passage doorways and through the lounge room. Any help here would be so appreciated, at this stage I am looking at a lilac in two sades, and a off white.... but not to sure. Thanks in advance Possum qld Re: colours for old qld'er home 2May 10, 2009 6:35 pm http://images.google.com.au/imgres?imgu ... 6wOe9_SYAw There were some good books out a few years ago about the Qlders……I have one I think, somewhere. Go to a good book store and search, you should be able to find one that will give you the original colour schemes for the style. Good luck, and congratulations for rescuing one, they are great homes!
