Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Apr 15, 2009 10:10 pm Hi Michelle and others! I am having selection paranoia. We have selected laminex Black Granite benchtops, formica "brushed silver" cupboards and have a curved glass and stainless westinghouse rangehood. Our colours together: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We have chosen not to have any overhead cupboards on the wall with our rangehood. We thought it might be nice to have the canopy as a sort of feature. Now, because of the curvedness (is that a word? ) of the glass, we have been soooo confused about where to finish the splashback, will it look funny, etc. We had been talking about making the splashback go vertical rather than horizontal, but didn't want to leave wall either side without any protection - also it would probably look funny. Then I saw this picture: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And I thought maybe we could do something similar - but with the glass splashback central and vertical on the wall, and some stainless steel either side the entire height of the wall. (Basically, opposite of the picture - without the overheads). My question is: do you think this would look ok? And do you have any colour suggestions? At present we have selected a "stainless steel" colour glass splashback - but I know this will be too much - especially with our stainless appliances. DP is not keen on red (I am - but I already managed to sneak in a manor red front door and panel lift so I don't want to push it). Blue might look strange with the silver cupboards (though they won't touch) - too cold? Would love to hear anyones thoughts on this! It is doing my head in!!! Thanks in advance! Give me a couple of days, my heads not really working today, sorry Sorry, Michelle! My posts (and brain) are a bit all over the place. It's the house's fault Thanks for trying to read my blabber anyway Kitchens really are the hardest part. I just did some phoning around this morning to see if we can possibly change the colour of our benches to be more white/grey look rather than the black. I found a few that seemed suitable online but until we see the samples and the range we're allowed to pick from again, I don't really know. Also, we will have to put it in writing and hope they approve the request. I sure hope they say yes! We really rushed this decision and now I've seen a few of the black laminex tops I don't really like the look.) Re: Stainless Steel/Glass Splashback combination 4Apr 18, 2009 10:23 am Can you let me know when you find out if you can change colours? I’d like to know what colours you are using before I answer the question.
